I'm beginning to look for some mechanical components, gears, gear racks and the like and was wondering which online surplus places are worth looking at.
I can likely get what I need at SDP-SI however the prices there are at times shocking...Since my project is largely experimental until I firm up a design I'd
prefer to begin with less costly bits. There used to be quite a few places out here 'down the Peninsula (aka "Silicon Valley")' but sadly those days are mostly past.

I'm going to go surfing to see what I can find. Any suggestions will be appreciated and looked into.
