Default Proper T72 tracks?

Hey everyone. Been lurking around this forum a bit reading up on these tanks. I've been interested in one for a while but just couldn't make up my mind what I really wanted. When I saw Heng Long's release of the T72, that pretty much sealed the deal. I love Cold War Soviet armor. Just got some spare cash and put in an order for a Pro model yesterday.

Already thinking of all the neat stuff I'm gonna do to it.

But anyway, to the point of this post. Anyone know a source for some proper T72 RMSh tracks in metal? I'm looking to do more of a late 80's, busting through the Berlin Wall sort of thing with it, and the T90 tracks don't really jive with that. I know this is still a new release, hopefully someone has a set in the works.

I would love to have sets of the “80s” vintage T72 tracks too. Sadly the only ones still available are in a Russian T72 kit and very very hard to find separately. They also do not mesh with the HL T72/90 sprockets.

I was doing some more searching around just now, and I'm assuming the Russian kit you mention is the DeAgostini one? I had previously kinda dismissed it due to the 'meh' electronics, low ground clearance and the Heng Long just being overall better. And for some reason assumed the tracks were plastic. Guess I got used to looking at silver HL tracks and all the pics of the DeAg kit the tracks are brown and look very plasticky. But reading the description they are infact metal.

It may actually be a very good option. I looked around their UK site. If you go to the subscription model:
ttps://www.model-space.com/gb/build-t72-russian-tank.html (just add an h at the front of that address for "https" can't post links yet apparently)
The prices are alot more reasonable, than on their US site. I looked at the order the subscription kits would come, and the track and sprocket is in the second kit. So you get the subscription, order the first (turret) set for 9.99GBP on sale, then the second for 29.99GBP. And not order the rest. It's pay as you go, cancel any time according to them. So you get an extra turret for the scrap box and your track and matching sprocket. All for 40GBP or about $50USD. Still cheaper than a set of HL T90 tracks on eBay.
Only hitch is the UK site won't ship to the US. Some quick looking shows pretty cheap prices for parcel forwarding from the UK. Ship it to the forwarding company's UK address, they ship it to you.

Edit: Forget all that, just looked some more and it looks like they only give you 5 links at a time and spread the whole track throughout the entire subscription service. So you would have to buy the whole kit to get the complete track. AAgghh, that's how they get 'ya. Thought I had figured out the secret formula.

Edit 2: What's the melting point of Heng Long metal tracks? curious minds want to know?

These are the tracks you want:

Not for sale...

As far as I am aware, no one currently makes them. They were made for a short period of time before the HL T-72 was released and some put them on the T-55A since there were examples of the T-55A using T-72 tracks in the real world. Yes these are mine and no you can't have them. I also believe they were released before the T-55A metal tracks were released so they were the only metal track option for a while on the T-55A. I intend to re-install them on a T-72 one day which is why I am holding onto them. Kenny Kong would probably be the guy that might be convinced to make them if there were enough interest. I did Email Christian Ludwig since that is where these tracks were originally sourced from if I remember correctly. I just asked where he sourced them from or if he made them himself. If he lets me know where he got them, maybe they can be convinced they will sell now that there is more demand for them.

I emailed Kenny Kong recently regarding these tracks. He replied that ho no longer makes them and sold them all to Christian Ludwig who used to list them on his site, but appear now to be unavailable. There seem to be a lot of us looking for the early T72 tracks. I thought about the Waltersons ones as well, but.....will those ever be available?

I guess Kenny doesn't see enough demand for them or maybe he's content doing the tracks he already does.

I did get a response from Christian. According to him they won't be made again by Kenny.

Would they have to be ordered through Facebook? I don't use it.
I understood he wants 120 Euros for a set with sprockets but if many are interested the price could come down?

Do the Attracks T72 tracks mentioned come with sprockets? Or have they been designed to work with HL T72/90 sprockets?

The Facebook shop does not mention sprockets being included. Price is listed at 100 Euro. On the FB page he states they will fit on the DeAgostini T-72 sprockets.

I would definitely be down for a set of the Attracks if they come with sprockets.
