Default Tamiya King Tiger parts

Hi All,
I have a full option King Tiger and I thought I'd get it going since we have more at home time now. It has a dual transmission from Tamiya but the output shaft on one cracked, I soldered it and it seems fine but I'd like to order a new one for the eventual failure. I looked over Tamiya's site but can't seem to find the part, aside from ordering a new tranny. Anyone have a diagram of parts or part numbers to identify the part I need?
Thanks,

Hello General,
have you checked the AAF tank museum web site? They seem to have everything for the 1/16 Tamiya tank kits, even down to the plastic sprues. I just ordered two of the "A" sprues for the Sherman and they shipped out today!
How about a photo of your Tiger II?

Thanks, it's been a few years since I operated my tanks but at least one came from them. I'll check them out! I also have the Sherman Tamiya kit but also a ton of the Heng Long stuff.

Thanks,
Isn't the output shaft on these made of steel? I'm curious how a steel part cracked..Even is this shaft was made
of brass how would that crack under normal use? I could see parts developing fatigue or stress cracks if they
were made with the wrong heat treat temper or were work hardened during manufacture...but still that's unusual..

It's the type of steel (seems more like white metal), it got a little bent, when I straightened it the crack appeared. I wish it was a better grade metal.

Unless someone on here has extra gearbox parts for the King Tiger they can sell your only source is AFF Tank Museum and they only have a right gearbox left is now discontinued .
Thanks

Yes, it looks unlikely for getting that part, so I'll make do with this one. If the solder breaks I can weld it and mill it down to the correct diameter.

I highly recommend Bob's gearboxes, especially if you're into battling like I am!

Forgot to mention I have Bob's gearboxes in my King Tiger! Don't have a photo of the gearboxes but do have a few of my Tamiya King Tiger.

When you said the output shaft are you talking about the final drive of the gearbox? If so you just need to purchase one gearbox....does not matter left or right and take the final drive from that gearbox and put it in yours. Also I believe when I was using Tamiya's gearboxes the KT and Tiger final drive shaft are the same.

Forgot to mention my old user name is Pzjgr. Old email is no longer valid but can't find a way to get them to change it to new email and get new password......

If this is a new KT, you should be able to return to Tamiya the bad gearbox for replacement

I am surprised you say it was bent, that could have been sent back for replacement
