1/16 Railway! WW1 & WW2 era

Maybe starting this thread a little premature, but i have been working for quite a while on building parts for my father to have his very own garden railway setup.
Most people would probably go buy stuff from a shop or online, but my issue is i like 1/16 and decided it had to be 1/16. Not really alot exists in this scale for garden railway, so decided to make my own haha
To start we are buiidling a narrow gauge which is running 45mm outdoor plastic track.
Once that is sorted i hope to get on with a 3.5" rail setup using metal track and building some locos capable of draggin people, although it will only be my father or my kids, so nothing like a big 5" or larger rail setup.
I have built a Diesel narrow gauge which i got designs from Thingiverse for the body, however i designed myself a twin motor twin axle drive setup and went from there with full rc gear.
Tonight i have also now built a bit of rolling stock with V1 Bomb, more will come, so watch this space.

Radio gear and battery and speaker setup hides under flip front folding hood.

As for the WW1 comment above in title, we are going to mix it up and have a WW1/WW2 area close to one another, so i will be makign a tin turtle for a WW1 trench layout, so keep your eyes peeled.
I have also been very fortunate to do a deal on a small gasoline engine which will hopefully make it into a open engine shunter.

You can make the G scale stuff look bigger to help out. Loco's can be modded to have the body's raised a bit and so on. Have a K5 that's not accurate in size but looks awesome going around the small garden railway I have.

Too cool Will, I don't know how you turn stuff out so fast - you must do CAD modelling 27 hours a day. Keep us posted on the train. I always thought a big outdoor train would be cool. Need a loading platform to load tanks on flat cars!

It feels like that sometimes.
But i Think it comes easy with a genuine passion and interest in something.
I will just keep churning out stuff.
I should admit the v1 bomb was designed by a friend who is on another forum, he did an excellent bit of design there.

A few more changes have occured over the weekend

I had to make a track adaptor piece to get Newqida track to join some old Toy State 45mm track.

I think it would be cool to design some other custom pieces, but i really do want to make sure stock track can be used as it works out expensive to print track

Well i couldn't leave it just as a narrow gauge, so whilst i have been testing a newly upgraded printer, i decided to put it to the test and print a 1/16 full gauge rail loco, Deutz Kof ii to run on 3.5" track

The plan is next year to make some track and get this thing with a metal chassis and over 100W of pulling power so it can actually pull a train with a few passengers e.g. my father and my kids
But we have an 88mm flak & 251 project to complete first. So if you waiting for one of those models don't worry i am on it and will try not to distract myself too much with this train business haha

I am almost convinced i saw part of this setup in Dortmund a couple years ago for the large Intermodellbau, could i be correct?
I am looking forward to being able to travel again and re-visit Dortmund with my father as that show is bloody awesome.
The rail gun is mighty impressive

Okay, I just can't take it anymore, it's a railroad gun, not a rail gun. A rail gun uses electricity and magnetism to launch projectiles. A railroad gun is a big honkin' cannon that rumbles down the railroad tracks!!!

Rat Patrol, yes, my favorite show growing up. That and "Combat"!!!

Yes, Rat Patrol was very, very popular over here. I really think an accessory package to upgrade a Jeep to a Rat Patrol Jeep would be a big hit. I know for sure that I would buy one.

I'll have to do more research, but I'm pretty sure the Rat Patrol Jeeps had their windshields removed. I'll see if I can dig up some good photos from the TV show so that Will has something to work with when he makes us our accessory kit. Bwahaha!!

Rat Patrol windshields were left on, but covered with a tarp to prevent any reflections from alerting enemy aircraft.
But this is a thread about really cool 3d printed railroads...

Will add to the ever growing list, seems like a fairly easy mod to do as an option.
So Gary am i taking that as an order then?
