FYI on Cromwell
Heard that Hooben refuses to share any more detailed photos of their Cromwell other than what has already been posted so I'd take that into consideration before parting with any funds.
Given they've had a working prototype since last spring something doesn't smell right,

Well, I made gamble. It’s not a Sherman but the Merk is my favorite MBT in the modern era next to the M60T/ Sabra so when I get mine I will do the review and tell y’all if it’s worth it’s cost or ****e for the trash can.

Wow, finally some interior pics. Looks very similar to my Hooben ZTZ-99A components as far as the plastic suspension arms, plastic non-rubber wheels, and nylon tracks. I see a brass bushing sticking out of one of the wheels so it's also probably the same in that respect to the ZTZ also. The bushings were a common size that can be replaced with bearings. If there was one thing I wish they would improve on at this point it would be to provide metal suspension arms since there is so much flex on the plastic ones. They still have this listed as a pre-order for $418 (up from $398 previously), but it doesn't look any better than the ZTZ-99A that I got for $208 shipped except for the metal hull. Looks like the also extended the deadline until tomorrow from Feb 28th probably due to lack of interest. I think the metal hull is actually more of a hindrance than a benefit. It just goes to show that Hooben has no clue what its customers want. The plastic hull can be beefed up, but the main components like the sprockets, idlers, and suspension can't be. The aftermarket doesn't seem to like Hooben either from what I see (or don't see) for sale. I see very few aftermarket parts for them. At least with the ZTZ there are HL parts that will fit to replace the Hooben parts.
On a side note, they no longer have the Abrams listed on their site. If they ever sold them, they sold very few.

Thanks but I'll pass
Have at it folks! Even though I could drive 45 minutes to Feng's showroom to see this in person, I'll be taking a pass.
And no, I'm not holding out hope for Clark but simply don't need another Hooben project on my hands.

Looks like a Cromwell, minus a few details.
I'd like to see it next to a Sherman for some size comparison.

Some video of the running Cromwell on FB (won't show the link here for some reason), but no clip of the sounds it makes. There are also a bunch of new photos of it on FB.

Sharing the link below, drop the "_" when pasting it into the browser. Looking at the recoil movement however, I suspect the sound files would be same-old-same-old. If I wanted to hear a marching bagpipe band I'd search for it myself.

He did say making progress on his 3D printed Cromwell - it's still far from complete. I'm glad there will be a choice though.

Will Be Worth The Wait
Just had a rather long chat with Tomas & am now more excited than ever upon hearing details of his development path & who he's been working with. Given his quality & detail level plans, his Cromwell model will be the gold standard.
I'll let him offer more details on his own post but it will well worth waiting a tad longer.

As much as I've become appreciative of 1/6 scale I still wish some of these guys would release 1/10 scale versions. You all know how
much I'd like to see British, Italian and Japanese subjects in 1/10 scale... Hooben's 1/10 scale has been a difficult sell for me after the
experience with the T-34 but so far they're sort of the only show in town with regards to new_ish releases in that scale. That they won't
respond to the desires for selling basic models (sans their crappy electronics), upgraded parts ( road wheels with actual rubber tires, aluminum
swing arms, etc) and long promised metal tracks is annoying.
I can only hope they'll change their MO and both listen to customers as well as refine their products.

I could say the same for Clark's Cromwell as well as Walterson's T-72 as well......endless teasers of CAD drawings and pre-production samples yet not a tank for sale.

Getting back to the Cromwell, since Clark has stated he has no plans to offer a board with proper Cromwell sounds unless he sees an order for 300, guess it's IBU2 for us.

Heard that. Was told several weeks ago I'll see Walterson's T-72 at HEC in mid-August but hadn't seen any follow-up if that is to be a production model or still some long-suffering prototype for display use.

I mean, Haya didn't do this sort of teasing and conditions, Andrew just quietly went ahead to make the tanks (while weathering accusations of copying quite firmly) and got on with selling them. That's what I like to see.
And I think it was the same with most hobbyists, and I think the Chieftain sold well, even thought it was not the obvious choice for any manufacturer, especially one making their first tank. You'd think they'd go for a safe option like a Tiger I (I kid). But in all seriousness the market has been crying out for a Merkava, anything British, just not another Tiger I.
I'm glad Haya has enough sales to feel confident enough to bring on the Centurion. Now, I really want that tank.

The Cromwell is now not on the pre-order list on www.hooben-shop.com. It is saying it's available for shipping. Although I've taken my chances with Hooben, I won't be buying any tank stuff until I start a new job.
