Default HL/Taigen Late metal tracks work on amTamiya KT?

Hi everyone, does the HL/Taigen late metal tracks work on a Tamiya KT? Or do you also need sprockets as well? Want to do late style....Impact no longer has them and Kenny need made them.

Thank you,
Duane

Be cautious when buying KT tracks. There are two different kinds of stock tracks - HL, open pin, and Torro, closed pin. You want the closed pin tracks from torro.

These are closed pin, good

and these are open pin, bad.

Look close and you'll see how you can actually see the pin in the open pin tracks. That means the last 1/16 inch of the pin on each end bears all the load. I got a set of these with the old Taigen pre-production turret all plastic model and they sucked. Kept throwing pins, and once they work out that 1/16 the whole link tries to separate. Not good. It took a hentech and a set of torro tracks to make her into a solid runner.

Thank you Crius for the information and that I want the closed pin. Sent Taigen message asking if the tracks will work on a Tamiya. Appreciate helping me!

It's better to buy Taigen sprocket wheel with the tracks especially if Tamiya wheel is plastic.
