Tamiya DMD alternative?
Trying to find an alternative to Tamiya's DMD control unit as these seem to be few and far between and priced sky high when you can find one available. I know the Heng Long 6.0S or later with throttle on left and steering on right would be a possibility but I wanted to know if there is another option, more of an independent module that could be used with any Transmitter/ receiver combo ? (and reasonably priced)

Best alternative I have found is the IBU2 Ultimate board. It does the job of both the Tamiya DMD and MF Boards. Cost under $200 and is available from Ian at https://www.rctankelectronics.com/. Has lots more options than Tamiya, Heng Long or any of the others.

DKLM has a new board for sale, looks pretty nice.

Just a note it comes from Hong Kong so shipping may put it over the $200 mark.

I use the old IBU, I wont use the Ultimate. I dont like the heavy inertia setting it has going forward and how you have to slowly pull down to go backward or it wont back up.
I have also been trying other boards, with Clarks recent problems, I tried a tamiya sheridan MFU. It was about 250 for all the necessary cables and stuff. Anh.... it has a level of inertia on forward that I can move my stick 2/3 of the way up and the engine sound throttles up but doesnt move till I pass 2/3 up stick.... Kinda sucks.
So I have the new DKtank on the way. Two of our club members already have it and are trying it out.

I’ll second Rad’s opinion. I’ll add that Elmod is also very nice. I have both and can’t imagine being able to be satisfied with any other boards. Watching YouTube videos may help you decide.
