Default Is 1/6 Scale Challenger mk1 with 12ch tranny worth 2200=$3000

HI i have the chance to buy a 1/6 scale about 6ft long challenger mk1 with full upgraded tracks Upgraded body and the hole shebang-smoke,lights & needs and comes with a 12 channel tranny and ready built and weathered paintwork.Plus Sabertooth speed controllers and a Bendini sound system and wondered if it was a good price at 2200.

As well as two DOD 1/6 figures

I don't have any experience with any RC tank's of this scale but have had 3x full option TAMIYA 1/16 tanks in the past and wanted to find out what you think.

Some fast answers would be great as the seller wants to know if I want it in the next 24hrs. thanks

That sounds like a very reasonable price. I wish I could find a Panzer 3 for that cheap in that scale.

Thanks skipper, I remember seeing 1/6 scale tanks on ebay for 2000-3000+ but not seen any for some time. I will have to drive over 2 hours to get to it and borrow my GF SUV to haul it back ,he said it weighs around 90kg so it would be the largest and heaviest model I ever bought.

He has a 1/6 stug for sale as well but at 3200

If you want to resell it at the same price you got it for I think it will sell very quickly.

I would say that it is a very good price. I presume it's a Mark 1 model - check their website to see the price for a new one. There are plenty of 1/6 tank collectors in the North West, but they don't seem interested in running these models, mainly due to the lack of a large running area. I would go on the UK Tank Club Facebook page in the UK and see who has these Challenger models which are more common in the UK than in the States and Europe.

I would say it's a good price for a tanks as big as the Challenger. You definitely couldn't buy it for that amount new.

The mark one website says that a new Challenger kit starts at $3,300. And if that's where it starts, I would imagine you'd have close to five grand into it by the time you got all your accessories and motion pack and all the other stuff that you need. So, if you can pick up that Challenger for three grand I would say go for it. I don't think you'll ever see another deal that good.

I never said it wasn't. It's the Challenger in question, I would assume everyone was keeping up enough to know that.

Not to make a pun but it isn't about 'size' necessarily.... A model tank can be large but how it's built in more important.
If it's what I think it is, one of the tanks from Russia, especially an older one, it might look ok but I'd look closer.

I'm not a fan of the one piece fiberglass upper hulls. You didn't show ant photos of the inside either of the upper or lower hulls.
I'd need to see that to give a better opinion.

Since the OP said he needed to know asap and this is already a day old I'd imagine this is moot anyway...

at a scale of 1\16, the detailing looks much better, I expected more for that kind of money, a gyroscope for a gun or remove backlashes, it dangles like panties on a rope.
For this size, such a sparse view ..
We say "like an ax done"
500 and not a penny on top ...

This Challenger II is 1/6th scale not 1/16 scale so it's HUGE.

I know English
I say that on such a BIG tank, the detailing is worse than on 1\16

I didn't have the presence of mind to say it in my first post about this (perhaps I was hungry or the heat affected me!) but
why the rush? Why does the seller need an immediate answer? That would put me off. I'd say no thanks just on that alone.
If the seller has a hot buyer wish them good luck and move on, especially in the knowledge there's likely better deals out there.

And what's with the '12 channel tranny' stuff? I assume you meant 12 channel radio system? Never heard it put that way before.
Which radio system does it have? Likely some sbus or sbus to PWM adapter?? That's also not a real selling point; greater than 8 channels
is pretty common now. Even inexpensive radio systems that support sbus can easily deliver 16 channels with OpenTx...

Why are there 12 control channels in the tank? I used 8 channels of Futaba 10 by 1/16 .. If only there hatches open and the command tower turns ... But judging by the way the engine compartment covers are made, I doubt that I have better than 1/72 ... Sorry colleagues did not notice that I wrote in Russian, I am correcting mistakes
