Lets hope the title guy on the left gets to see his bigger brother in 25 days but with continued lockdowns in place, I'm not about to bet on that. Time will tell.

There is a rumor Tamiya will be putting out a 1/16 British tank this year. Not going to hold my breath on that one. Oh BTW...where is that Waltherson T-72?

Seen those pics, too. I does look good. I'm finding that I can't make the Hooben ZTZ-99A much better than it is due to differences in manufacturing from HL parts and Hooben parts (HL tracks/sprockets are too wide to fit under the track guards). I think I'm at the point where I will just replace the electronics and leave it running on the stock plastic running gear (sprockets and tracks).

Bummer! Just learned that HEC will be cancelled due to the ongoing Delta covid restrictions in place. Official announcement is to be made within the next 1-2 days so that means no peek at the new KV-2 or Hooben's Merkava.

That sounds correct. They were only planning to offer 20 units at HEC since initial production was slated for export. China-based deliveries - Toucan is in Shenzhen - would follow.
Regarding the Merkava, already Hooben is posting like mad on WeChat working their classic pre-sale angle now that HEC has been cancelled. Am hearing initial shipments will be late October-November.

Boy they just keep pushing those dates back on the Merkava. I do like the tank, but I think I'll wait till they start shipping before I decide to buy one.

After the Hetzer, I will never buy another first run of anything Hooben makes. Best to wait it out once their design faults & quality complaints get ironed out.
Have been chatting with more local customers of Hooben's & they sound worse than us in the West. Was recently asked by one if I wanted to be invited to the WeChat group sponsored by Hooben to see all the customer complaints about his product. When I told him, am sure that I would never be allowed in he said, "You will miss a lot of fun".
Back to the KV-2, am asking around how I can buy one of the initial 20. Will post some photos if I get my hands on one.

I just wish someone, somewhere would break the German-Russian-US tank spell and make something from Japan, Italy, France
or more of England in larger scales.Take a chance, worst that could happen is they'd get a tax write-off...

Hey Jerry, we are clamoring for some Cold War US Armor. Plenty of Russian stuff out there but no US. That Cheifton is coming and the Centurian is out there, Time for some US armor.

Well I asked around and the KV-2 will have the airsoft barrel recoil + IR feature, adjustable track tension, and a few of the other new goodies they have been adding. If there is enough demand we might pick up a few for you guys to get from a reputable dealer. Pricing looks to be around the price of the other modern tanks they sell.

Someone had said they should start shipping in like two months so it will be more like three before the start showing up for sale.
