Intermittent functions
Hello, I have been given an old Heng Long 1/24 rc battle tank when I first got it I charged the battery and it worked not to bad, not all functions but the grandson loves it. When he went to use it yesterday all it did was grunt a bit then nothing. No big deal I'll just charge up the batteries, before I did that I checked the tank and hand control batteries with a meter, they are both fully charged, could it be the control board in the tank?

I would charge the main tank battery regardless. If it's a NiMH or NiCd battery, they lose charge pretty quickly when not in use.

And remember that those batteries don't last forever. Eventually it'll fail to hold a charge and you'll have to replace it. If the Grandson likes it that much it may be worth picking up a spare battery or two.

Just a note about rechargeable batteries, unless metered under load, the voltage reading can be mis-leading
While the meter may show adequate voltage, the ability to deliver power may be diminished until recharged
Unlike non-rechargeable batteries, re-chargeable batteries are better at maintaining a 'ghost' voltage level
