1/16 Diamond T981 & 45ton M9 trailer
Whilst working on many other things, i spent quite alot of time last year late in the evenings after building various halftracks designing some other cool models.
I give you the first Diamond T981 & M9 trailer i have ever built. I was asked to put together a tank hauler, so i believe people will know this as a M19 hauler.
With the help of Martin this come to reality, the truck is hugely capable and powerful.
It features dual 370 motors which run thru my own design transfer case and the truck is configured as a 6x4, so the rear axles are powered and the front is not.
The M9 45ton trailer has been designed so as to be a self build kit and features many aluminium components to make sure its robust and looks good.
The first initial trailer in the video is all 3d printed, but the next ones will not.
It was really important to me to have all the suspension working and steering, so all the axles are fully moveable in 2 axis, which means it handles really well when going over rough terrain.
I haven't done much testing of the unit yet, but here i did a test of the truck hauling 2 tanks abandoned on the trailer using 10-15% throttle running 2s lipo.
I am working on a removable ballast section so that there is enough traction on the rear wheels to haul a heavy load.
I still have some more development work to do on this unit, but i can't wait to get it completed, should look awesome once done.

Very nice. The power that thing has is a whole new level of hauling ability.
