Default You *can* grind down the Heng Long T-34 headlight

So the LED on the Heng Long T-34 sticks out of the face of the fixture like a giant zit.

I filed it down and the LED does still work. It doesn't light up the entire lens as it should, but the LED still works. You could fashion a blackout slit cover out of styrene or modeling clay or whatever and it would work though.

I am replacing it with a metal replacement with a proper headlight lens, and a warm yellow micro LED.

But it was a fun exercise.

Yeah, as long as you don't grind it down to the metal posts it will still work. I will hit them with some 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper and then some rubbing compound if you want them to be really clear after cutting them down.

Have you already got the metal headlight? I bought about 20 of the Taigen T-34 headlights to use on trucks so if you need one, send me a PM.

Thanks, yeah I bought 5 of them. They are pretty cheap. It's the tiny warm LEDs that are $15 a pop!

The ones I got came with the LED but when I need an LED I usually go for the 3 mm warm white.

PM your address and I'll send you a few 3mm warm white to test. I think you'll be surprised, and I got 100 of them for about 8 bucks, but that was a few years ago so they might be a bit more now.

LOL I ordered "3" warm leds but turns out each package was 10 pieces. So I now have a boatload of tiny warm LEDs.
