TAMIYA R/C TIGER 1 TANK w/ Battle Unit
Ok here is my new 1/16 TAMIYA R/C full function TIGER 1 TANK w/ Battle Unit...
It runs on 2 1800 mah battery packs and has full function turret w/ raise and lower of main gun , fully operating left and right tracks just like the real thing..You turn it on and hear/feel the engine rumble and start..As you lower the cannon you hear the motors working...when you rotate the turret you hear the metal and gears turning..When the Gun fires you see muzzle flash and witness the gun recoil...Machine gun also fires and makes noise and you see red flash out of the m.g. When you start to move you hear metal tracks turning and hear the engine come from idle to power...This is a real AWESOME TANK>>> We have a Club here in Texas for all those interested...we meet at an Armor Museum and are currently getting prepped to construct a 1/16th scale battle field at the museum where we will be able to perform for audiences and just have FUN!!!!!!!Museum is located in Austin Texas..
No membership fees for all interested

RE: TAMIYA R/C TIGER 1 TANK w/ Battle Unit
Here are the pic's of the battle unit ...this registers when you fire and when you are hit...You may set it on light , medium or heavy armor...each of course changes the # of hits you can take before you are "destroyed"....With each hit you see the lights turn on and the tank will be slowed down a %-age and you will also hear the "hit" take place..very awesome...when only one shot remains to be dealt your tank will be very crippled and even the engine sounds near the edge of mortality...and the tank barely can maintain speed...On final impact the tank sounds off an explosion and you hear the engine die..YOu are out for 15 seconds and then the tank comes back on and you have 15 second invincibility to recover...This unit is removeable to ease transportation and for static display...No limit to # of tanks in a battle as long as frequencies don't interfere...

Yep...most all are Tamiya tanks that have to be fullfunction w. Battle System to compete...You are within range to participate in the Battles... check out our website and visit the club links... A lot of the Tamiya Tanks can be modified to look like or resemble different tanks...Keep the questions and comments coming!

That battlefield looks pretty awesome. It would be cool if the tanks would smoke when they take a hit and then maybe have the turret blow off or something when the tank is dead.
Do you guys ever do battle re-inactments or anything like that? Maybe with some pyro effects and what not?

Yep, Most of the Battles are exciting...the clubs actually have night battles, they have simulated explosions using compressed air under the soil that makes it look like a mortar just hit...You guys have to get at least 1!!!!!

It would be cool to put a small camera on all of the tank's turrets and have a monitor for each tank in a room seperate from the battlefield. That way you would only be able to see the battlefield from the tank's perspective. Then have each team have a captain that stands in the room with the battlefield and he can communicate to his team where the enemy tanks are with a radio or something. Just have someone there to record the entire battle with a video camera. Then everyone could gather around a bigscreen after the battle and watch how the battle unfolded from another perspective. It would be the ultimate tank simulation.

http://www.customrcmodels.com/index.htm go to the mid page and click on the photo of the tank and 18 wheeler to watch several short clips of the tank and 18 wheeler moving thru the Battle Field...Good site to explore our world of Tamiya Tank Warfare

Those videos are great. Viewing it from the tank's perspective gives you a good feal for the heat of battle.
I bet the military could do something like this but put the driver inside of a tank simulator with the immages coming to him from a model tank. Would be great training I'd think.
Too bad there isn't a group around me that has these tank battles. It sure looks like a blast.

I honestly cannot imagine anything cooler than that. I wish there was a club in Eastern PA for this. I'd dump my RC monster truck to get into tank battles in a second. The only way that could be any cooler is if you incorporated air units with the battle system on em. HEHE
