Default 1/16 Commander Painting - in progress

Hi, I'm currently doing a couple commission paintings for forum member kurtmeyer, and thought i'd post a work in progress thread about it..

First in the list is this 1/16 King Tiger commander. I'll let the pics speak for themselves and will be updating the thread as I go. I just started this weekend, so not much is done yet.

The camo on the pants are based on this Waffen SS tanker jacket, as seen in this link:

I have been working late this week so haven't had a lot of time, but last night I did some of the jacket. I'll post progress pics when I have actual progress to show. Patience. A quality job doesn't happen overnight. (plus I have a life too.. *heh, heh*)

Hi, here's a little progress. Painted the jacket. It's black, so not much to it other than the little details and ever so slight shading.

The paint job is Kick A@#, reallly impressive. ANd the pants are right on accurate. Can't wait to see it finished. I am considering trying to paint my first figure and I'd be stoked if it looked half as good as yours.

Thanks, it's Vallejo Model Color acrylic paints. It's actually supposed to be wool, so I'll have to fix that sheen. But I added a slight semi-gloss to the gloves and belt since they are supposed to be leather.

The only way he could look better is in a surrender position to the American forces.

Great paint job. Very skilled hands you have.

It's finished. Here are the final shots.

GD Dave - "Are you taking orders?"
I may be busy for a couple weeks, but if you're not in a rush, I will probably have some time to start new projects after that.
