I think you should do a review on Heng Long and about how much fun and creativity they allow for at a great price!

I think ANYTHING Heng Long would be great... lets face it they all need updates... I think a general article... and it would likely be a tiger because there is so much out there... or a Perishing.... about the tank from purchase to final product... or at least about all of the tanks and the things, wonderful things we do to them would be EXCELLANT!!!

LGBFAN A PIII review would be great, but many of those details can be found searching around the forum. A review that includes a metal upgrade and some pro's vs con's of the metal parts would be great. Run it around stock and review it, then upgrade it and give us another mini-review so we know if the money is well spent!!

Well... The henglong....

Besides the axles... and screws... oh and the airsoft barrel and the antenna's... It is All plastic... but that is how it comes...

attached is my build thread... but there are many like it... the imaginations here are AMAZING!!!

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5697824/tm.htm

The thread will give you an idea of the sort of things that can be done....

In my opinion and this is only my opinion.. (and I will buy a Tamiya in the future) but I would prefer a Heng Long for its potential to make imaginative upgrades.... By no stretch does it come complete which is all the fun...!!!

The cost range... is approximately 70 to 140, depending on where you buy it.... Most of us I think buy from MATO, in my opinion.. mostly because of service...

The only bad thing is the plastic, but if everything were made out of metal you might as well go out and buy a full size tank.

Low cost review:
Stock PZIII (maybe with the plastic gearbox), and then upgrade it with:
Metal gearbox
Metal tracks (maybe the nice IMPACT ones?)
Sprockets & Idlers

High cost review:
Tamiya Panther

Another idea:
Maybe review the pros and cons of switching to 2.4Ghz radios on the Tamiya tanks?

Most of us are old time model builders (and alot of new modelers) so the cheaper HL and plastic works for us (low cost mods)[8D]

A full upgrade might also include the EL Mod Eltronics.

EL Mod Eltronics
What are those, is it a type of motor, or for better handling?

There is an Article on the DAK website about customizing the Spektrum DX6. We have a club member who may have figured out how to put the Tamiya to "Sleep" when it is knocked out of a battle, as convetional radios do when the Tx is turned off. Otherwise the Spektrum tanks reset and can still take hits. Should be posting a link within a few days. I want to try it on my tank BEFORE I recommend it to everyone else.

Make sure you order the BR6000 Rx, not AR6000.

Quick Pros

No worrying about frequencies
Short Rx antenna can easliy hid in the tank - about 2" long.
Short Tx antenna - hinged
No glitching
6 Channel radio gives you a spare channel (one used to put the tank to sleep)
Programmable

Quick Cons

Cost more than a cheap 4 channel radio
Tx battery life is limited out of the box - upgrade battery or replace voltage regulator ($16 - soldering required)
Need to use a fifth channel to "Sleep" the tank
Programmable - This can be a blessing AND a curse

If someone doesn't beat us to it, I am sure a DAK or SCAT member will write up a review.

How about a review of the Andrew Design Sd.Kfz. 222/223 1/16 scale model? Not really a tank but being mostly diecast RC model would be interseting as this is a new maker on the scene.
