Just wondering any new progress? I'm still stuck between building my M4 with a the cast or kit hull, I have a turret from Tiff Williams...so many choices.....

No progress lately. I just got back from a two week vacation and found my Schumo detail bits in the mail. It will battle this sunday. I'll post some pics to show what I was busy with and had to give up tank building temporarily.

First OD added to check for flaws and compete in Dec battleday. Afterwards I puttied the brushguard attachments and began work on the back plate and the tools.

More detail work and a coat of paint to even things out. Recently added is the tow cable made from nylon string and the end pieces from the Tamiya Pershing. Of course, I then realized I forgot to put on the spare track blocks on the rear of the hull. So far so good on the finer detail parts, I added the locking pins to the filler caps. I misplaced my small chain though. Maybe 'll find it next weekend.

Black stripes added. Used good old Tamiya tape to mask and the remainder of a can of Tamiya NATO black for the details.

It's not complete until you have the words "In The Mood" on both sides of the hull! Other than that, I have always like the black over green camo for US tanks.

Dry transfers added for the bumper numbers, serial numbers and IN THE MOOD. Added star decals and am preparing to paint on the rings.

Surface details 95% complete. Added Schumo brush guards to hatches and applied the appropriate decals and markings. I used a circle cutter and Tamiya tape to make the circle around the US insignia. Next step is weathering and I have begun with a basic wash using acrylic paint. Once this is done I will add battle damage and begin oil washes for spills and paint chips.

One question, and i see it alot on here. Why did you prime/paint the hull before attaching the metal pieces? The paint/primer layer will cause alot of problems later with the parts falling off. Wouldnt it have ben better to wait until you had the parts inastaled then painted it. Other than that it looks good.

I prime the pieces and prepare all the appropriate mating surfaces. I have had no problems so far.

The Tanks looks great, I'd bet it being RC and much larger helped draw the most attention
