Wow, I am feeling the years now as I update a build page after 4 years!!!

In the Mood has seen dozens of battles and was even sold to members of DAK before finding its way back to the C.O.s bench. Now that the hobby has caught up with what I wanted to do with it originally, it is time for a tank overhaul!! I stripped the innards and will add the M51 guts with recoil.

Of course..... VVSS

Not much progress on "In The Mood" but I added a picture of my latest project.... Baby Liliana learning the tank ropes.

Many of you may have guessed by now I am scratching and clawing more hobby time from my HUSBAND/DAD/WORK life and dusting off old projects to get them on the field. Much of this comes from daughter in pre-k, wife working at home and shooing me to the garage, and work settling into almost normal hours and staffing. I am riding this pony into the ground as in a few months it will be too hot to work in the garage.

Several of these zombie posts are meant to show that these projects really have a life of their own. Tamiya based vehicles run for years and years and this one has almost 9 lives. It has been sold twice, refurbed three times, and now finally will be rebuilt from the ground up. The HVSS lower is gone.... The Nick Aquilar resin hull warped uncontrollably in the AZ heat and is gone.... Tamiya Sherman guts moved in to my Ambulance M113. All that is left is the original Nick Turret now modified with Tamiya recoil.

To start I dusted off my last remaining MATO cast hull and pulled apart the HengLong 105mm Sherman turret I scavenged for my Dugster project. The lower half will replace the bottom of the Nick Turret.

I cut off the Bustle and removed some locating pins from the lower.

Fitted the lower to the hull and made sure the traverse unit meshed.

Mated the parts and like the look so far.

YeH those urethane hulls need to be braced with plexiglass inside. I do it on the sides and across too.
where do you get the urethane primer. I have that problem with paint rubbing off easy.

I used a Primer from MrHobby that is meant for Resin. Holds pretty good! A picture of it is on the first page of the thread.
