Default 45th Infantry Division tank photos

Hello from Oklahoma City,

I'm going to be starting my M4 Sherman (76) build real soon, and wanted to stop off at our local 45 ID Museum to snap some pics so thought I'd share what they have. This is just a few of the armor pieces on display. I really like that 8" gun they have, behind it is the carrier to transport it as well. I can post more if you guys like.

Do you have the A1 hull and turret from Nick? I've got one in the works now, converting an older Tam Sherman and have the T-66 tracks for it. The M-4A1E8 was never used in combat but still a nice looking Sherman. Were there any signs on the M-103 about what unit had it? The only Army unit that had them was the 3AD 33d Armor in Germany. That's an A5 model and used by the Marines.

Cool pictures. Looks like they got deal on blue paint at some point At least they ARE keeping em painted and not letting em rust away.

It's the colour balance/cast left from taking photos with the wrong settings (or misdetected by camera). Run them through Paintshop Pro or similar and you can remove the cooler blue tint and restore it to as it should look.

wackywheelz is correct, I took those in P mode and didn't realize it as opposed to manual. I'm shooting with an EOS rebel DSLR, and had my lighting still set for my childs play from a few nights ago. I have the raw files and will do some white balance corrections in Photoshop today, it is a pretty easy fix. They are not blue but more black. My bad, how revolting...haha.

I've corrected the white balance, that was awful looking, which is what hapens when you don't look at what you are doing. Here are a few more.

I'm usinga Tiff Williams turret and the tamiya hull, I knew they had a 76mm at the museum just wasn't sure what one. The inside is amazing, and is full of all the history of the 45th, which happens to be deployed to Iraq. So lots of home town connections there.

Not familiar with Tiff's turet. I got one of Nicks but had to cut the oval loaders hatch out of the older Tamiya turret, remove the large split one and build it into the T-23 as I didn't want the "finger chopper" hatch. Lots of work but I haven't found a t-23 with the later loaders hatch. That's an M-4A1E8. Not as imposing as the huge M-4A3E8 and not as much room inside, but I think it looks nicer. That's also either a composit that someone restored or an early model...it has the older exhaust baffles.

Here's a shot of what Tiff's turret looks like.
