3-1 Gears in a Panzer III (or others)
I'm interested in obtaining 3-1 gearboxes for my HL Pz III and eventually for other HL tanks also. The search function being what it is here, I found some comments but not a comprehensive install thread. from what I gather, Asiatam.de has them? I don't read German, so it's dificult. Any other sources? Has anybody installed them recently? Looks like last June is the latest posting. What is involved - any gear pulling? Any observations would be appreciated...

It's never been my friend. I have trouble searching for posts that I've posted.

Checkout this thread: Tamiya Gearbox reduction set?? Got some of these gearboxes from HK-based ebay seller plus2workshop at $20 for 3 pcs. Item comes with a 4mm output shaft (intended for propellers) and needs to be machined down to 2.3mm. Search ebay for this item: Gearbox for 380/400 motors

HI
I got some of these as well after BubbaJoexx put me onto them. Once the output shaft is reduced they work great. Real smooth movement and at realistic looking speed. I just put them in a drill and ground them down with a file until the pinion gear fitted onto them. Then just filed a little flat spot for the grub screw to bite and hey presto they worked.
cheers
