Looks like on top of the Panzer IV, there comming out with a King Tiger, Panther G and a Jagdpanther all fully RTR with nice camo. In addition to this they have a 1/35th Panther G RTR on sale for $189.00 Normally $420.00. Sounds like a deal.

Luckily they don't include the IR stuff, so you don't have to pay extra if you don't want to.

No kidding! I know Factories usually get ridiculous with that "MSRP" just so the Retailors can appear to be giving you a "Deal", but still.......... []

Now, if these guys would put out a VVSS Sherman, that would sell fast. But, if you're going to put out that amount of money on something that big, why not just go a bit more for a 1;1 scale? MVPA has some good ones for sale.

The difference? Judging by your signature, the one on the right is the only one you can afford, even though the one on the left is actually about $750.00. [sm=lol.gif]

Hey, you asked.

Redonkulous! I'd rather run the budget tanks with upgrades! Rclaw is right...might as well spend the $$ on an 1/8th or 1/4 scale! What is it with Tami, anyhow? Why are tanks so much more expensive than some of their trucks and cars? Never understood their reasoning.

Anyhow, I'm quite happy with my 'second class' Matorros and Heng Longs. At least I know when I bust 'em up I won't bust the bank!

PAX!

That is for a complete assembled model, not a kit. I think they used contract labor from AIG to build it. I wonder if it comes with a 1000 hour warrenty?

I think it's funny it took so long for someone to read the details on this. It's so easy to light a fire under a few, gesh!

Since I said very clearly in post #6, "fully RTR with nice camo" there shouldnt have been any confusion about this being for a kit or RTR.

$3000 for a painted 1/16 Tamiya tank that costs, what, $1500 (retail) unpainted and in pieces? $1500 in labor? I think everyone read the description...it comes painted, with the radio. If it wasn't put together by AIG exec's, Tamiya must be paying bonuses like AIG!

I looked twice to make sure it wasn't 1/6!

Tamiya has every right to charge whatever they want for their product, the market determines their sales, so if they can sell them for that, good for Tamiya.

Who cares if it is RTR, and painted. $ 3000 for a 1/16 tank is absurd, when I can get one for $140.00. And yes I own both brands and there is no way in hell a Tamiya is worth that premium.

This is like a junk Bond scam. They offer a RTR for $3000, leading people to beleive that the Tamiya kit they are buying for $700 is really going to be worth $3000 when they get it built, so this justifies the expenditure, The truth is it doesn't, and when it comes time to get your equity out of your investment, you will find there is no equity. It was a marketed scam all imagined, with the real value probably being less then a kit. After all that is one of the reason people pay the premium, is because they get to build it.

If Tamiya can sell these, good on them, I guess.

Calm yourself Yago.

I thought it was unusual but not worth getting in a twist over...

MSRP dosn't even come close to "street" price.
