Limited offerings, but may be of some use.

Other than that, they're a very good vendor with good customer service (a bit slow, but they get the job done). And if you find an item for less they'll beat it by 5%.

Hi Guys. does anyone know anything about Peter Muller, model(?) in germany? Sondererfahrzeug modellbau.. I'd like to order a buffel, 1490 euro from him. I checked out afv but their prices are much higher. the buffell looks pretty awesome and is all metal. any feedback would be greatly appreciated...Ian

Ian,
I have been studying his offerings and they seem to be very well executed pieces. However, it was brought to my attention that some details are simplified, such as tracks, but I don't find that to be a negative. The rivetcounters out there might have an issue with that, but the decision is yours. The cost is high, but the current economy has weakened the Euro, so the pricing has a little less sting. I just sent an inquiry a few weeks ago for a price quote on a 1:10 scale and they replied in a couple of days. Don't forget, the listed price includes a 19% VAT, that won't be charged to you since you are in Canada (unless you are considered part of the EU). Shipping is not exorbitant, but definitely is something to factor in and transit time will likely run 3-4 weeks. I just jumped over to the site and I think you should look again at the selection and pricing, you could have a mechanically complete, unpainted Leopard for the price you stated, or the base offering for less than that. Considering the limited number of really high quality offerings of modern armor in the current market (not trying to bash anyone), they seem like a great option. Just my two cents worth, good luck!

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your input. At the start of the year a friend talked me into getting an rc vehicle so I went out and bought a Taigen panther. Its airsoft and pretty good but I wanted something more modern so I found the leopard at Mato and bought that(airsoft as well but henglong) I bought a complete set of parts to play with and modify as Tamiya's , I thought at the time, was too expensive. They still are, compared to this Buffel arv, which is all metal, quite a bit of torque with a 12v system. I want something rugged for my money and that will last many years. I thought his price is very good considering AFV wants a thousand euro's more, but I think that's because they're a bigger operation. I know, still a lot of money but I like the functions and that's what I look for; working crane, plow. Hopefully someday we'll get this quality here in north America. When I was a kid back in 74 my parnts bought me this steam engine, built in Germany(they still make them) I love that thing, still works and looks brand new. That's quality and I think it's worth the price. We'll see. Ian

Ian,
Glad to help. I understand your desire to have something that is "solid". As I said, I don't want to start a flame war that I am bashing any other manufacturer. I own and enjoy several Taigens and I have a few Tamiyas that I am rebuilding to my mechanical tastes. However, I own two 1:10 scale Tigers and they are built like the proverbial "Brick ****house" and were built about 4 decades ago. That is why I feel that Peter Muller's offerings are a great value if you are willing to pay the ticket for something extremely unique and well crafted. If you do get it, please share your experience here on the forum.

I too have looked at that Buffel with lust in my heart. If you compare it to the cost of a Tamiya Leopard, it is not over priced at all.

Great place for motor controllers for 1/6 or large scale tanks. Customer service is great as well as the products.

Is there any way to update/clean up this thread? It is great for a person new to the hobby but a lot of the links are out of date or the websites are just gone.

Hi Fellow Tankers!
I am a new member to RCU, a relatively new tanker but long time RC enthusiast starting with my first build of a Tamiya Toyota 4X4 Hilux in 1982! I recently became aware of a really good shop here in Canada that promotes, sells and provides expertise related to Taigen Tanks. I was able to obtain the following Taigen tanks from them at great prices and I enjoy the tanks immensely: T-34/85 Metal Edition with Winter Camo IR version, Torro King Tiger Metal Edition BB version and a Sherman M4A3 76mm Metal Edition with IR version.
The shop is called Winona Garden Railway (in Ontario, Canada) and I was pleased to find out from the awesome owner John Burden that all RCU tank members can get a 5% discount on all Taigen products!! Also, when I created an account with them I got $10.00 off my first purchase, that is available to anyone who creates an account with them. You have to use the coupon code "tankers" to get that discount and John also advised me that refunds are given on any shipping overcharges. I have even had a chance to take advantage of his 'free shipping" offer on a recent purchase.
I encourage everyone to check them out at the link below.https://wgrr.ca/Radio-Control-116-Sc...nks_c_115.html

Etoarmor is still working away, been in business since 2003. Etoarmor transmissions and HennTec idler systems are in stock. Most Schumo is also in stock. Atak is also in stock for the most part.
