Probably a dumb question, but what kinda tracks and wheels are shipped with these new Shermans? I recall seeing metal tracks on the Mato site offered as an option. Does this mean the tank comes with plastic or what? Thanks!

This is a Mato tank not Heng Long. There is no IR version planned.

I remember Swathdiver mentioning these were a hybrid track, metal and plastic.

YHR - Bummer - will have to plan some mods now. I like the airsoft, but am getting to like IR better (recoil and flash)

You just need the right airsoft gun. I was able to get one of my guns to shoot 275 fps (stock is about 100)

Thanks! So if I can extrapolate that a bit, would it be safe to conclude that we can have a serviceable outdoor vehicle without having to spend another $75+ right off the bat for track and wheel performance upgrades?

There is no IR version planned with this release. The advanced electronics are still in development. I would gather that once Darkith gets his hands on a tank an IR upgrade will be brought to market by spring. I'm sure someone else will make a more streamlined gun tube too.

The tracks are like the real ones, the T48 track used metal guide teeth with a rubber block chevron track. Instead of rubber they used plastic. The T49 3-bar steel cleat track will be the upgrade track with EECs or duck bill end connectors for increased flotation. This track will be all metal like the original. The sprockets are supposed to be metal from the factory. The idlers were made adjustable and functional. I do not know however, if those features were deleted or not. We'll all find out at the same time.

Look I know it should read $189, but to someone who's new to tanks and not a member of any forums it looks like the price was $109.00 and is now £149.00 (just thought it may put people off).

If its a new tank, listed at $189, and now down to $149, then is the $189 the MSRP? We aren't going to see a bail-out soon are we? If i wait until next year for a '10 model, maybe I could pick up an 09 for book value?

Received a tracking number from Mato this morning, SHERMAN has been shipped by UPS truck, this may mean it is coming from the California warehouse. If it is it's about 50 miles from my location, may have it by Monday or Tuesday. Will let you all know the estimated delivery date when I get it.

Doesn't seem fair....a CANADIAN company supplying a US customer BEFORE shipping to the Canadian orders. IFthey are going to do a mass ship- they should wait until the 26th for ALL the preorders.

Sorry, HDBeast, not picking on you....just tired of being treated as second class because I'm Canadian instead of American.

If they're shipping from California before Canada then one would presume that the ship docked on the West Coast of the United States and didn't go through the Panama Canal, up along the Eastern Seaboard and through the St. Lawrence just to make it fair. Doesn't make any sense.

You're only a 2nd class citizen if you allow yourself to be treated as one.

I recieved my shipping confirmation from Mato as well. Item was shipped today. The tanks landed in Vancouver 10 days ago. China is closer to Northern Canadian ports then US. Prince Rupurt also has no harbour wait time.

Remember the Alaska Hiway. It was pushed through because an Asian invasion was feared with Alaska being the beachhead.

Easy Dmon1996. We are all North Americans. I am a proud Canadian and have never felt I am being treated second class. There are many reasons to be a proud Canadian, and don't ever lose site of that. Go to Holland with a Canadian flag on your backpack, and ask there if you are second class.

Update: Shipping from Canada by UPS, Shipped out today and estimated delivery date to me is 10/30/09. Doesn't look like there going to come from the US Warehouse for at least this shipment.[:@][:'(]
