Well Blitz at least we know what to expect from HL with the new Panther. Unlike this new Sherman from MATO.

Sorry I meant “Comet” as for Cromwell I have no production numbers though I would certainly like to have one from any of the manufactures as this would go well with my late Tiger I
Ah, ok. From what I've read it seems the Cromwell was actually quite common. I'd love to have an RCone of those. I agree about the Comet too.. one of those would be wicked. Convcievably you could mod a cromwell into one (no small undertaking!)... too bad we don't have an RC of one of those

Guess what the cat dragged in....

Some quick notes: The hull machine gun is not mounted but is found in the accessories box. Also, this is my first HL and I was very pleasantly surprised to find the cannon to be lathed metal (aluminum?) Kudos for that!

I'm off to work so I didn't have time to put her through her paces, but I think I will be sleeping late tonight hehe....

Very nice! I need one of these!! Looks like another crooked muzzle break! Why don't they just send these in the accessories pack and let us install them ourselves?! [:@]

Very nice looking Panther. I see the tools are not molded on. I ordered one of these as well but in North America we won't see them until December.

Ernie, I’d bet a simple twist of that barrel will straighten it out. I’m lovin’ this tank, though. I’m glad they left the tools, etc. off as it’s going to make painting it a cake walk. Sure looks like a winner. It’s at the top of my ‘next tank’ list.
Anyone know anything of the suspension? Is it a little better than what I’ve read here of the Jagdpanther being a bit on the soft side?
Cheers, Bob

The one that I got was a Bulldog... the muzzle break is glued on and won't twist. Glad to hear that your is an easy fix

I've always found the bulldog's barrel had a slight twist to it. With the HL lathed barrels (stug Jadpanther and now panther) the mussel brake are plastic and just screw on to the metal barrels)

After giving a quick run, here are some thoughts:

Pros:

1. Excellent external finish.
2. Excellent suspension. The two front suspensions are even stiffer than the rest. Almost too stiff.
3. Barrel is lathed aluminum.
4. Tools and miscellaneous parts are not molded-in and are located in the accessories box.
5. A metal gearbox.
6. I estimate the gun shoots at least at 150 fps.
7. It has a working front headlight that stays on as long as the unit is turned on.

Cons:

1. The unit sound is a bit low even at max setting.
2. No barrel recoil.
3. They painted over the front headlight. [sm=50_50.gif]

All in all, a great early Christmas present

+1, that is some good news! I'm especially glad to hear the postive comment about the suspension. Also, I found yourestimate that the gun shoots in excess of 150 FPS interesting. I took delivery of a HL Tiger1 about 5 - 6weeks ago and I noticed it's gun shoots much harder than the Pantiger I received in July. Kinda makes you wonder if HL has made some improvements across their product line. This new Panther is definately on my next tank list.. hopefully after the first of the year. :-)

Cheers, Bob
