My modified KT.
Here is my KT whick I bought from Canada.
I've been working on it for a while now.
Specs:
-Impact tracks w/18T sprockets
-Impact TU's
-Impact photoetched parts
-Impact gun elevation arm
-Impact suspension
-Impact metal track guides
-ETO armour mudguard holders
-ETO armour track hangers
-ETO armour 8T pinions (give in total 130:1 ratio, and yes it's VERY strong)
-Asiatam metal roadwheels, modified to have 2bb's in each instead of just 1.
-Asiatam metal cupola for late Tiger 1
-Asiatam metal final drive covers for Tiger 1, modified with 8x22 bearings.
Also made a new bigger mechanism deck to fit the 2x 5000mAh batteries
I removed the Zimmerit on it, and gave it a new paint sceme. The number on the tank isn't the correct , but I didn't have any other on my hand.
Weight: 8kgs!

Hmmmm I've always shied away from the King tiger, but yours looks really good. I guess I don't like zimmerit, because I think yours might be the first KT I've seen without it, and I like it.

Looks good...I agree with YHR, I prefer it without the zimmerit.
Is it a Matorro or a Tamiya KT? If Matorro, how easy was it to get the Impact TUs to fit correctly?

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback!
Yes it's a Tamiya tank.
The reason why I removed the zimmerit is that not all tanks were delivered with it, and especially the late ones. And this is a late model. I tried to get the rolled armour plate look, but I'm not all convinced that I got it right. And yes there will be some mud on it when summer arrives. Real mud, not fake.
The only thing that I miss now is bb's in the idler wheels and some serious track tensioners like the Schumou's. Beside that I really likes it and how it performs.
Here is some bonus pictures during the build:

YHR: The fire extinguisher parts are from the PE kit from Impact. A bit tricky to fit, but looks nice in the end. I'm sorry I don't have too much of these build pictures. But when I get home I will do a video shooting of it in action, hopefully outdoor.
Disposable Hero: I also likes the tanks best without skirts on. I dont know why.

KT 332 photos . Captured by americans when the crew ran away because they thought thier tank was on fire ( it wasnt) It was hit with a smoke round ( remember Kelly's heroes and the paint round )Kinda funny really.

Your KT looks great. All that detailing can add up fast, but it makes it stand out from the rest. That personal touch or as I say your signature. I try and make everything I can. The fun and you save some money. I too shied away from Zim. I went for the natural look, but kept the fenders. No turret or Komp number. Just the Iron Cross. I guess it's a rebel.

Beautiful work GeirMagne, karel47 and tailend charlie and it is great to see some expert level King Tiger models posted. GeirMagne, those are great camouflage colors and make the model. I am also of the opinion that zimmerit spoils the looks of most WWII German tank models, plus it was only used for a relatively short period of time and later determined to be kinda useless, since the Soviet Union wasn't found to be fielding magnetic anti-tank weapons.

Where did you get the magnets that secures the top half of the hull to the bottom?
