Default Humbrol paint tins/hatch rings

I am installing metal hatches and a little repainting of my Tiger upper hull, and I was searchingfor a way to achieve the hatch rings on the real tiger. The hatch closes on this ring and it's not on the H./L Hull.Well in looking for a way to provide this detail I think I have found one way to do this.I was at the local shop looking at plastic round stock and thinking I will never get this to conform to the hatch ring circumference and beside me was the Humbrol paint desplay, and those perfect little tins of paint. So I purchased two tins of grey primer and was set, here is what I did next in pictures. All feedback welcome.Saxondog

This is why I love this forum, people using their noggin to come up with ingenious ideas. And at little to no cost. Fantastic work.

Cheers,
Wade

That's really great. It's very satisfying when things come together like that. Certainly beats paying 13 Euros + shipping or whatever for a custom part

Thanks guy's,I went to the shop looking at the plastic round stock and directly behind me was the Humbrol display and the rest is in pictures but it really does work well and the cut out and notch in the inner ring also allows the hatch to rest in the open position, hopefully Sunday's weather will allow me to finish this modification and complete the paint work,Thanks again guy's. Blake
