Electrics question
I'd like to use the "smoke" circuit of my tank to power up lights on the front of the tank....using the stock housings and led's inside them...dont want to wire in a new power supply and all that and dont have my smoke unit on but has anyone used that circuit for anything other than smoke...I realize I'd have to test the circuit for what power output it has to get the correct LED's..just looking for thoughts on this. Just an idea I had to utilize a circuit already on the tank.

RE: Electrics question
You will have to use a resister in series with the LED. The smoker output is full voltage.

RE: Electrics question
I was thinking it might be full output..hadnt tested it with a VOM yet...good to know in advance before heading to the local radio shack for LEDs this week-end..hopefully can get the main power switch and light switch relocated to where I want them...changed out to pushbutton style and mounted under the muffler shields...then be able to switch them with a small screwdriver through the muffler outlet...then an external charge port and get the hull sealed up..Thanks for the help..much appreciated!

RE: Electrics question
You could use the DIP switches like off of an old networking card. The muffler shield could hinge upward, hiding the switch panel under it.
Its quite easy to make hinges with thin sheet metal and fine wire, or even paper tape. Secure it closed with a small piece of that fridge-magnet tape. With a locator/antislip pin and a magnet, you really don't need hinges even (think like the Leo 2A6's intake grilles) That help ya out any? |

You could change up the lighting look really easy if you brought it all back to a DIP buss. |
