Binding receivers
I bought a couple of those cheap Aerosport 2.4 Ghz radios and was wondering how much luck I would have getting them to bind with my Spektrum receivers that are already mounted in tanks. Is this doable??????????
Just thought I would ask before I give it a try. |
RE: Binding receivers
Funny you are asking this questin Dan. I am trying to find out if there is any way to use an optional receiever with my RDS8000 TX. Seems that no one knows that I have spoken to.

RE: Binding receivers
Hi Guy's those cheap china radios mostly run on there own type of 2.4 so i don't think it will bind to spectrum 2.4.

RE: Binding receivers
2.4 is like PCM, they only work with there own, ouless some steals the code.

RE: Binding receivers
All the 2.4 systems are proprietary to their manufacturer. So you pretty much have too use the receiver that is supplied with or recommended by the TX maker.Me and a few of the other guys have just been talking about all this. Some of these 2.4 receivers are very expensive even for just 4 or 6 channels. <div> So be a where of that fact when you go to buy a radio system. It may be more cost effective in the long run to stay with popular brands, just for Tx/Rx comparability issues and availability.</div>

RE: Binding receivers
yes, I am now hoping that the 6 channel airtronics receiver I just ordered will work with my RDS8000 radio.

RE: Binding receivers
Generally, you have to use the same brand TX and RX.
BUT....there are now $10-15 "clone/compatible" Rxes for Spektrum DSM2 and $30 Futaba FASST "clone/compatible" RXes. Hobbyking sells them under the "Orange" brand, and other online stores sell them as well. There are also counterfeit Spektrum RXes (exact same look as a genuine Spektrum, but the font is a little "wrong", and the quality isn't as good), which can be hard to tell from the real deal (price is usually too good to be true).
