Mad Tank Lab! New Tank Effect

This is gonna be cool!

Getting it all together, but I wanted to share the project and see what you guys think.

I found a micro solenoid valve that operates on 6 volts. I also found a micro fan about the size of a quarter also 6 volts. (used to clear the fog from the inside of paint ball helmets.)

The valve and the fan are wired to a micro switch which is placed next to the recoiling barrel. So that the recoil shuts the switch.

The smoker is modified so that one of the exhaust ports is routed to an enclosure where the fan is placed from there is goes to the inlet of the valve. The line then continues from the outlet into and down the barrel.

At the breech the line is slit and the wires for the flash are inserted. The whole thing is then positioned in the barrel.

So what we have is the gun flashes and recoils at which time the fan comes on and the solenoid opens pushing a puff of smoke out the muzzle. As the barrel returns to the battery position the switch opens which secures power to the fan and the solenoid.

This should look cool!

It will look good if you master it. I gave a Tiger to one of my Daughters Boyfriend. He plumbed in the smoker to the airsoft cannon to get a smoke effect when fired. I thought it looked pretty cool, but I had moved away from Airsoft, and never did the conversion myself.

I be lookng in with keen interest.

Some rounds had a large amount of smoke attached to firing. So much so it prevented the crews from targeting until the smoke cleared. I doubt you will be able to duplicate that, but you never know,

Very good idea for non-airsofts tanks:)

Oh no Pellets. Just a high voltage flash, made from an old disposable camera.

Good warning though. I never knew that about the fluid.

Thanks

Where did you find the solenoid valve ???
I've been working on a project similar to that for a while ...I used an home-made solenoid valve to get a puff of smoke at the exhaust of my stug III ....Since I was unable to find a 6 Volts micro valve and had some 6 Volts electromagnets ; I made my own solenoid valves ...They work but it's time consuming when you try to reinvent the wheel ....http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...unge_smile.gif
the idea of using one good smoke unit with multiple outputs controlled by solenoid valves is the way to go ...
1 solenoid for the smoke puffs at the exhaust
1 solenoid for the smoke at the gun
1 solenoid to simulate battle damage ...

Can't wait to see your results ....<br type="_moz" />
