Dead Mouse

Click on your mouse. What do you hear? That clicking sound is made by very small micro switches.

So when my mouse gave up the ghost I performed an autopsy. Oh the treasures I found 7 Micro switches and . . now get ready for this.

Two complete sets of small 8 pin connectors and plugs! Not to mention three connector plugs.

So when that mouse dies, make it a organ donor.

And here I thought another yahoo on here killed another mouse with their panzer's airsoft cannon. ;)

I don't think the airsoft cannon is strong enough to do that. Maybe if you shoot the mouse in the head at point blank, but waht are the odds to do that? http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...sn/biggrin.gif

I have never looked a mouse before. Thnaks Don. I typically harvest all the wiring out of my old PC's, They have some great soft flexible wiring in there for connecting indicator LEDs to the hard drive

Sad but true that after 3 years a $1500 tool only has some wire and LED's left that are worth anything.!!!!!

Hey I was that Yahoo that killed the mouse with my very first Tiger 1. Strangest thing ever happened, and witnessed by three people. Was not even really trying to hit it. Shot it from about 5 feet away. Felt really bad about it . . . sotra.

Good shootin' Don! Mice spread disease, sometimes fatal disease.

Have you noticed how many of us use the Tiger I as an avatar? For a tank which served for only 3 years and in small numbers, it has certainly garnered a cult status has it not?

Microswitches are very usefull as eg. travel limit switch on gun elevation.
I did the elevation limit switch mod on my Tamiya KT, due to the canon kept falling when crossing rough terrain. First I glued up the slipperclutch on the elevation gearbox (can also replace it with the blue gear from tamiya's small gearbox kit) , but then there is a risk of stripping the gears when the barrel reach it's end positions. So I added the two micro switches to come over this problem. I found a very small and neat one at my local electronic shop. The brand and type is OmronD2MQ-1L.
Also VCR players and other electronic equipment are a good source for parts.
