Altering Sound On A DBC

I wanted to check to see if someone could advise me if the gun sound on a DBC equipped tank can be altered.

Right now, the durration of thegun sound is too long, more like a distant, rolling thunder effect than a shot.

I think Phil from RCTankWars is the guy to ask here. He is the one that assembled and installed the sound in the DBCs that Glen and I use.

I have a DBU system now and I need to test it . I must say I think it is an older system but the IR apple is not great looking. I will be looking at what others have done and may be reconstruct it.

BUy one of those 12 sound cards from 123 electronics, and download any cannon sound you want. The fact you can download wave files directly on to it is a big plus.

The analog sound card is OK for the hit and death sounds If you have the sound card that comes with the DBC, you can use it to re-record the cannon shot, but the recording won't be as clean as a wave file.

That is why I mod the HL sensor. You end up with a really nice factory look. Plus you know all the fins used to diffuse radiant light are all the same, and built to the same standard.

Is there a way this can be described for someone with virtually no electronic skills or knowlege, like me http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ssed_smile.gif

I am not sure what sound card you have. If it is the one that David packages up with his DBC, it will have two buttons and a slide switch.

Actually if you go to Davids web site and download the build instructions, I think he has instructions there to allow you to put your own sound in it.

Have you got the DBC or the DBC 2????, difference being the 2 uses a hobby radio for control

I am assuming it is the DBC, it operates with the stock radio.

The sound card wiring is soldered to the DBC, the sound card is encased in heat shrink, so i can't see any details on it.

The sound card is a consumer product. You can buy those for 123 electronics as well.

Read Darkith instructions on recording sounds on this card, and cut off the shrink wrap. You will need to have a recording of the gun you want. Basically you play the sound and hit one of the Buttons to record it

That is the standard DBC for use with Heng Long radios. Cut off the shrink wrap, and you will have access to the recording function buttons.

I did mine i think you need to unsolder it off the DBU board first I also jumped the record switches with 2 wires with a push button momentery switch so you won't hear the clunk of the switch when recording.... Also you have to limit the legnth of the recording so or when you get hit you won't hear sound all the time but the hits will count though.
On Daves site he shows how to record on the card.
here is what i did with my panzer III
