Panzer IV Camo Pattern, Comments?

1 Attachment(s)
I found this guide, claiming to be representative of a Panzer IV used by Grossduetschland in Russia, 1942.

Does anyone have any comments on the accuracy of the guide?

Glenn, Do you have Squadron Signal's Panzer IV in Action? Other very good books are Panzer Colors 1,2, & 3 and Eastern Front, all Squadron Signals. Anything you'd need on German armor is in there.

Been to the Panzer IV website??? Don't remember it offhand but a search should turn it up.

Thanks, I'll do that. It may be a bit because I have a Jagdpanther on the go right now; I have a "one at a time" policy. I don't violate that because I know my short comings. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f.../red_smile.gif (pieces of several all over, none completed).

Good to plan ahead, though, I'll contact you at the next time I am up your way, at a good time of day.

Where did you find that guide? Do they other similar guides for other Pz IVs and other tanks?

I found it on a random internet search.

They don't make 1/16 scale decals :( but IMHO, THEYNEEDTO.

When you enter the site, just clicl on a subject of interest and scroll down to see the guides;

Here is their write up, it sounds like they do their research, the bolding is mine;

For those of you that are not familiar with my previous decals (see below), I can say that my intention are to make decals looking
as close to the real markings used as possible.

This means that I do not do any general markings, but instead I make my originals
based on photos. Handpainted numbers and markings are made to look handpainted.

This is why I call them historical markings.

I also try to make the decalsets as complete as possible. All markings on a vehicle are reproduced on the decalsets.

Together with the paintinstructions, I also state what reference I have used to make it easy for the modeller to use the same
source as I had, when building his model
.

The decalset consist of a sheet of silk-screen printed wet-transfer decals.
Some sets also have an additional sheet of OKI printed markings for the very detailed markings or for a single odd
coloured marking. Paintinstructions in english with detailed b/w illustrations.
