Sherman Hull

I received one of Nick Aguilar's early sherman hull. You may already know about it but I thought I would post some pictures as I was quite impressed.

The hatches have the periscopes molded in, the engine deck covers are great. Detail overall is a lot better than I would expect from a resin cast and this shows that Nick defintely has got it down to a science ( I have the cast hull from him that is also a great piece). The resin also is a bit pliable that makes for a superior product on an RC vehicle that will be moving around (and probably making physical contact at times).

Time to plan on another Sherman...

Hi

That is a lovely chunk of resin. Are these available as it would save me a lot of work converting a Tamiya one and to be honest would look a lot better in the end anyway.

thanks

It's nice to see a Ford M4A3 enter the mix! Most of those were kept in the USA for training but after the Normandy invasion many were shipped to both the PTO and ETO to make up for the heavy losses. I believe they are the most common ones running around America now.

Did you get it direct from Nick A, or is he selling through someone?

Thanks

RE: Sherman Hull

This came from Nick, it's on ebay but I'm not sure if he's the actual seller, or whether or not he's marketing them through someone else. When I received it and saw the quality I was so excited (which doesn't happen too often) I had to share it. I believe he's on this forum but I don't recall his screen name here. He didn't have a problem with me posting pictures but I don't want to list his email. I know a lot of people here get parts from him.

I've done casting myself and the quality on a piece this big is fantastic. I'm hesitant to attempt soemthing this large. Most of my experience is in 15mm & 25mm wargaming figures in tin/lead using a spin caster. I have done a few resin pieces and had some success but it's not as simple as it might seem. I purchased many Verlinden parts years ago and have been disappointed in the product and started to relate resin with bubbles and poor quality. This is not the case here!

Nick, I appreciate the kind words. I'm on duty today and was checking the forum on my phone and saw all the interest in this hull. I will be home tomorrow morning after 08:00 and will be able to answer any questions about the availability of these hulls. My email is [email protected].
it's to damn hard type anything on this phone. L0L!

This kit looks Great.
I have one question. Can I use this hull with chassis of mato sherman?

RE: Sherman Hull

Yes, I made this hull with posts that line up with the lower Mato hull seats. There are 4 which are located close to the corners. The transmission cover is an early model single piece unit which was also made to fit on the upper and lower hulls. For the Tamiya guys, it is slightly larger than the stock Tamiya upper hull so it should fit no problem.

Nick A,
Do you have a site that I can order from, or do I need to find it on Ebay?

Jim
