RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
Now, THAT'S THWE WAY TO GO. Very nice. I think I will be having these for my Jumbo now that Mato has the tracks with the Duck Bill end extenders for sale.
Finally their listening. |
RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
Those work nice and supple now don't they? :) Assembling all the parts for my M36 or M36B1 TD.
Just in time for Fall weather too. Now it's finally getting exciting, huh. :D Tanks for the video! ~ Jeff |
RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
There seems to be less crowding between the bogie wheels. Are there stronger springs that force each independent suspension arm farther downward, or are the roadwhweels themselves just smaller? It really looks nice! -Mike

RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
I compared the "old" wheels to the new ones (in photos that is) and I came to the conclusion they do look smaller along with the return wheels as well being ALOT smaller.

RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
mato really have pulled out all the stops on these units i got my mitts on a set at our meet and man they are good
the guy that brought them for us had 5 sets and they went in less minutes the return roller is smaller and possibly could do with a brass shaft or bearing in there but they still are very nice indeed glad the video helped to show what a real great little item they are and a big thanks to all those involved in bringing that video |

RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
I just ordered a set from Mato. Not cheap, but for a fully functioning metal suspension a fair price. The video looked really good.

RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension

RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension

RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension

RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
Can't wait to get a set of these myself.
Any of you who have ever seen a real Sherman in person will know that this mod makes it look EXACTALLYlike the real deal. Great job Mato and to the modifier. |

RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
a little update the new wheels are the same size as the plastic ones but as the new arms pivot at the right point the wheels dont hit

Brilliant idea man! :D

RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
These bogies are great, though I have to mention the actual wheels (metal part) are about 2mm smaller diametre than original plastic ones, the rubber tyre is thicker and so makes up the difference to about the same overall diametre as the plastics.
It is a bit of a shame the detailed markings on original are not on the new ones and that the old dont fit the new but they are much sturdier, soon to be following Paul's mod as I picked up last set at Swindon http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...eeth_smile.gif sorry guys....... |
RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
ahhh so you had the last set lmao
i have a base and lid but no bogies yet just waiting on daves next shipment ;) |
RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
Doh! Yeah thought id jump on them the rate they were selling and after seeing how great they worked on septon's hull http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ades_smile.gif

RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
not a problem Dave my better half would of gone ballistic if i bought any more tank related stuff that weekend lmao ;)
|
RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
Since I have just aquired a Tamyia Sherman, I would love to know if these will also fit that hull? I would be really mad if I spent that much on a set and they would not fit it. The mod seems easy enough to do also.
|
RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
Fit? With modifications to the hull they will work. Adding styrene sheets to the sides helps a great deal in hiding the return wheels holes and shimming out the VVSS.
It's fun. ;) ~ Jeff |

RE: video of mato sherman (Metal) suspension
OK on that mod. I will wait to purchase to see how much of a hassle it will be to do first. I'm not afraid to change things around a bit, but if someone has done it already and is willing to show pictures of how to do it, it is much easier for my old eyes and sausage fingers to do. I will be watching and waiting before starting my build.
