Catastrophic Kill
I don't know how old this is or if it is a test or the real thing. This is the first I have seen it. Heck of a fireworks display though. http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/LCXKTTOpJQ4/default.jpg

RE: Catastrophic Kill
Its an old one of a Javelon missle hitting a Centurion in a test...It was on another U-tube mislabeled an an M-46 and later identified as a 1950s Swedish tank. Possibly another tank, as the other did not look like a Centurion in any way and these target tanks were RCd.
A hit with a modern missle means the crew goes very quick and there's nothing much the medics can scrape up to put in a body bag. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3AJfTBig0E |
RE: Catastrophic Kill
Here's another on the same video....claims to be an Israeli missle but the target does not look like any Syrian tank, plus the background does not look anything like Israel. . I was looking for the other video and came across this..Looks like everyone is claiming its thiers. [:-]

RE: Catastrophic Kill
Funny....I was just recently thinking about a similar video I saw about 15 years ago and decided then that I NEVER wanted to be in a modern day tank crew! Talk about a horrible way to die!

RE: Catastrophic Kill
10-4...but when you look at everything else flying around out there....that bit of armor is a lot better protection than cotton twill OG-108 fatigues. You really don't mind listening to small arms, or even Soviet 12.7mm making the turret sound like a popcorn machine., but when bigger stuff hits...not cool at all. [&:] Now the new stuff...when it hits...you really never know it. Our new armor like Chobham on the Abrams...takes a helluva big round to take it out..but when something that big hits, well it doesn't matter cuz you never see or hear it. [:@]
