Tamiya TS-80 Flat Clear Needed
 

Anybody got a can of Tamiya TS-80 Flat Clear they'd part with? I'm just about finished with a project that I've been using TS-80 on the whole way,and I don't want to risk running a different type of clear on it at this point now that its almost complete. I have a can "supposedly" on a ship coming from China, but no guarantees(or tracking number yet)and might be another month away. Kind of desparate..have cash..even Half a can will probably be enough....thanks

Ill call the local HS tomorrow and see if they have one, theyre stock has been less then stellar though lol.

If you could that would be great...this stuff has been discontinued and getting hard to find! Wished I would have known that when I started this project or I would have picked another brand or bought two cans lol..

The recent Tamiya shake up has made me rethink paint selection. I am now leaning more towards the local hardware store and WalMart for name brand paints.

They will be cheaper and you will get more for money spent. Of course, this will only apply to rattle cans.

If takevin can't help I'll check around here but I have never seen this part number of paint before.

On my HL King Tiger that I've been painting and using tamiya paints with the testors Dullcote no issues whatsover. If my HS doesnt have it, and you can get testors, just do a test spot on a piece of plastic. There shouldnt be any issue I would think. Dirtybird, do you have a spray gun since tamiya makes the flat in bottle too?

Oh, don't get me wrong. Tamiya and Testors are number one in my book. BUT, I have no local Hobby Store (must drive over 25 miles) so when I run low it makes more sense to expand my taste some.

I mean, we all know Tamiya sprays are a bit salty ... what, $6.39 at Tower Hobbies for example for the 3 oz. can. You DO get what you pay for, and excellent paint with an excellent spray nozzle that lays the paint down nice and smooth.

Now, RUST-OLEUM at Lowes has a 12 oz. can (and for example I needed flat black) for $3.98. Do the math. AND, I think if performed properly the RUST-OLEUM will put down a comparable finish too.

Big savings in these days where pinching a few pennies makes the hobby dollar stretch a bit more. :D

Same here at the Hobbytown USA (the only one within miles of me) at 317-882-3175.

you guys this stuff works great some of the guys from Can Am mentioned it to me i used it and it works great it has a nice flat finish i picked it up at Home Depot

This guy has been using it as I am on my second can of Valspar "Frosting". I use it as the final coat of what needs to look faded or weathered.

Still use the flat clear on other projects and finishes.
