casting material
 

several months ago someone had identified a type of casting material that could change size proportionally by adding or deleting moisture. if it was on this site or you have an idea of what i speak, could you send me a link. appreciate it!!

can you describe the parts you wanted to cast, techniques you used and describe the thicknesses involved. it makes sense to me that thicker sections vs. thinner sections would expand at different rates so i would expect some distortion. how much did you try to grow? did you do interim steps to make new molds after some level of growth to avoid some distortion? what ever info you have even if a failure i would appreciate knowing. i have some projects that i would like to experiment with. i had already planned on a level of distortion. i would like to see if i can control or mitigate that distortion. If answering these questions is a pain I will understand. If the story is complex a PM will be ok to. let me know. thanks.

We where working on some prop armor and I found the Hydrospan because the helmets where a little off and I thought we could size them up with it. Sorry to say it didn't work asadvertised. We tried it oneverything, And I mean everything, large and small, that we could think of with the same thing happening. Unevenexpansion.We call thecompanyto see if they could help but nothing worked.
