Introducing Tiger 233.....

Hey Guys just finished up the build on my Tamiya Tiger 1. I built it pretty much out of the box but modified the fenders for Early Tunisian Tigers, added a homemade gearbox brace out of Brass Tube, Schumo idler support bearings, DT elevationarm, Daryls emitter tube mounted in the Muzzle brake and Deans connectors(Thanks Yellowshaker for the soldering and the connectors!!) I modeled it after a 501st Panzer in Africa late 42 early 43. Iknow its not 100pct accurate as it is faded Dark Yellow versus whatever the correct color is but I like it and the rear fenders are not rounded but there are no pictures of this tank so who really knows right?? Comments are appreciated. Oh fellow NEADGuys look out as Iam building Rommels HQfor the battlefield.

Try loading one pix at a time, then adding more with the edit feature.

Nice.

I vote for a little chipping and very little rust.

Those Tigers were not there very long and it was a dry place. I also think all the Tigers that went to Afraca were new, not redeployed from Russia.

RE: Introducing Tiger 233.....

Thanks for the help guys I am gonna a do little bit more chipping on the mantlet and rear deck/turret top re the maybe a little rust stain on the skirts I have done all the rust very orange/brown because I wanted it to look fresh versus the darker color it gets as it ages, I appreciate the feedback. And Pah Btw u are right they werent there long but 6-8 mos in the desert for a steel tank is an eternity. Jon

That looks very good. Less rust and only chip where the crew would be using it or for battle damage.

Looks great! Another vote for little chipping and less rust.  As 223, this tank was fairly new to the scene like you mentioned. I do not know when the crew added the extra track to the glacis, but there are pictures of 823 with that setup before her demise at Beja. I modelled mine after 823 (except I skipped the track fender mod!).

I have a question. Why are tanks, cars etc in the aircraft forum?. I listed my interests as aircraft only and I see non aircraft forums. I have nothing against all the other stuff, but when I list my preferences of forums and interests as aircraft I have to ask why that isn't what I am seeing. This is directed towards the RC Universe folks.
