I am working on a 1/6 scale M24 right now. What material are you planning on making it out of? I am making mine out of aluminum and steel so mine will be a heavy tank and as such will need a more powerful motor system so I will be using wheel chair motors. I have been working on just drawing the plans up to build mine right now and just making the plans is a long process so that the scale of everything is good. If you have more detailed questions I will be more than happy to answer what I can.

The tracks will probably need to be made from hinges, at least that is what I am going to use. for your tank a 2 inch steel hinge is probably the best bet. If the suspension is anything like a StuG which your tank kind of looks like you will need to get some hydrolic dampeners to absorb the shock and then have a hinged bracket that the road wheels sit on that pivots up and down to move with the terrain.

I am getting the automotive style ones for my tank

Man, that is one cool site, and the links it provides are awesome. I found a set of unit creatss from the 5th Infantry Division Mech. HHB Divarty at the PX site store. Man that unit has been retired ( deactivated ) for almost 20 years.
