Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Did any of you tankers get a HL Sherman M4A3 yet?
|
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
I have one... arriving soon! :D
~ Jeff |
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Are there any U.S. suppliers that are going to carry these?
|
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Where did you purchase from? I am thinking of getting one from Hobbyraw. Full metal with IR.

RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
I just received the Heng Long M4A1 Sherman in 1:30 scale. Been out for several years...ok tank, but the stupidest thing I see about it is when you push the key button to turn off the motor an asian voice says "Goodbye"...couldn't believe it. Other than that it is ok.

Yes...I knew that...just thought I would pass along the dumb thing my 1:30 scale had on the sound card. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...eeth_smile.gif

RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Did it say z*i ji*n (再见) or simply "good bye"? ;)
|
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Opened up the box and snapped a few pics.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...g?t=1356742614 http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...g?t=1356742565 I was immediately impressed with the way the manual was layed out and the accessories are still on a sprue, much like Tamiya BUT... the handles for the tools are painted, the crates are molded in a wood color and the gear is a khaki color. I DOES come with a tank commander and I think it being highlighted/accented with black is nicely done. ~ Jeff |
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Just "Good Bye"
|
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Now that is really cool. Looks great. Looking forward to hear how it runs and performs.
|
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Looks Good. Is it airsoft or IR?
|
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Okay, sorry about the quality of these pics as I was in a hurry and don't have time for setting it up again.
This tank is airsoft BUT... looks like they manufactured it so that you could add the system later as they have done the hard work (for most people) already. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...g?t=1356790865 http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...g?t=1356790892 I got a late start on the day so I am charging up the HL battery it came with and will run out on my errands and get some batteries for the transmitter. I want the first video of it to be ALL Heng Long. Then later, the transformation to a Heng Long/Tamiya M36B1. :D EDIT: The LED is to let you know the airsoft has fired. [:o] ~ Jeff |
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
I thought I was looking a my cd collection in the picture. I see you like Van Halen also. LOL. Will the gun recoil even though it is airsoft or will you have to upgrade?
|
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
I like all hard rock, most heavy metal and a lot of popular music... mostly from the 70's and 80's. :D
I see no mention of recoil, now that I found out that the LED is an indicator light to show the airsoft has fired. [:o] BUT, this afternoon we shall see. I did look in the parts catalog and found no recoil mentioned, but I did just skim over it. :D One thing it does have is a volume control!!! [X(] ~ Jeff |
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Well, I set out to do a video... but the tank apparently has some jitters as most new RTR's have. I thought I overcame them inside but they reappeared outside and it's freezing out there and I'm not about to work on it there. :haha:
So here's what it did. The snow is a bit too deep and too soft to do much so maybe when I get the Tamiya gear in it a video will be done. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...g?t=1356806091 http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...g?t=1356806123 http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...g?t=1356806106 http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...g?t=1356806048 http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...g?t=1356806070 When it was running it sounded and ran fine as all operations worked and lit up. :D ~ Jeff |
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
According to my supplier HLSherman will be in wide production April-May 2013 (may be a little earlier).<p class="MsoNormal" align="left" style="text-align:left;layout-grid-mode:char"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:navy">Heng Long has released some previously, but now they have informed my supplier that these RC tanks have some problems, so they have stopped supplying.</span>
<span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:navy">Many customers ask about the Sherman. It is very a confused situation. So by now we are pationatly waiting the update as these models are excellent for Kursk Duga in 1943. Besides KV-1, this Sherman we do not have any other RC</span>tank <span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:navy">models that could reconstruct (really recostruct) Kursk 1943 Eastern Front Red Army armour forces massively.</span></p> |
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Hi Hal!
Any resources on the Shermans at Kursk? And, who is the supplier with this information. As far as problems... what are they addressing? I know about the guide horns on the plastic tracks but mine did run and did so pretty quietly too as the turret rotation was nice and smooth. But just like any RTR you purchase, it did have some hesitations... only because I didn't assemble it. :D ~ Jeff |

They were in 1943 at nothern horn of Kursk Duga in July August 1943. But it was M4A2 (and this particulat model is aesy to rebuild to M4A2 version)... Red Army Shermans were widely used during advance operation "Kutuzov", but all of them were destroyed but panzerwaffe. Out of 67 Shermans 52 were destroyed. http://www.d-i-m.su/forum/attachment...p;d=1355378773 http://www.d-i-m.su/forum/attachment...p;d=1355378774 These are Shermans (as supposed) 70th Tank Brigadefrom 5th Tank Corpus </br> </br> Ьн</br> |

RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
The Battle of Kursk is one of my favorite stories and to learn that Shermans might have been involved?
After looking over my Sherman parts I forgot I started on a Jumbo Turret with my Tiff Williams parts, so I may just get me started on the M4A3E2... again. :D ~ Jeff |
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Far too many (unfinished) tanks Jeff!!
|
RE: Heng Long Sherman M4A3
Hmmm, not really. It's more like too many projects I want to BUILD!!!
The only unfinished tank is my Tamiya Panther and I just cemented the loops on the turret this morning. All then that is left is a little welding around them, then assemble the thing and paint it. :D My TD's can wait. ;) ~ Jeff |
