um...yeah
I just installed a new set of metal gear boxes in my tiger. easy install, but now instead of pushing the stick on the transmitter up to run the gears forward, I have to push it to the right. Forward and back is now left and right on the transmitter and left and right is now up and down. has anyone ever have this problem?
|
RE: um...yeah
I have had forward is back, back is forward before so i switched the motor plugs with each other... but i haven't heard of your issue.

RE: um...yeah
Sounds like you may have crossed the motors up or didn't wire it correctly.

RE: um...yeah
Thanks guys. I'll try the crystals. The gear boxes came pre-wired. I just had to screw them in place and plug the wires in.

RE: um...yeah
Your right motor has the poles swapped, while the left is correct. It was probably wired to be used in a M26, KV-1 or M41.
Unplug it from the RX18, extract the pins from the plastic plug using a pointed tool or a small blade to press the retainers before pulling the wires out, swap their positions and plug it again into the Rx18. It should work fine. |
RE: um...yeah
Thanks for the help guys. I'll have to try switching the leads around when I have some time this week.

RE: um...yeah
The easiest thing as other have mentioned is just to swap the plugs to the motors on the RX 18. Simply by unplugging them and swapping left and right might fix the problem. If the gear set you put in has been stepped down to 3:1 the extra gear means the shafts will spin in the opposite direction of the regular gear box. If that is the case you either have to swap the leads on the motors or the jacks

RE: um...yeah
Thanks again guys. It was the leads on one of the motors. Reversed them in the plug and everything works great!
