Long slim weld lines
So i'm trying to finish the panzer iv weld lines. I'm doing the one on the trop of the hull and they are suppose to be pretty slim.
I have milliput grye-yellow, it's the only one i found (expensive too). ALL other weld lines are done but those are so slim/thin... how do i do them? I can't seem to be able to roll the milliput thin/slim enough, and then it just starts breaking apart... Some advice please :)<br type="_moz" /> |

I use a wodden stick( like the doc use on the tongue to roll the putty super slim .Then I use a bush witch I dip in some water to make it stick and lift it in place.

I just use heavy twisted thread glued in the trough where the weld is supposed to be. It can be formed around corners and odd angles also quite easily. Looks great with a coat of paint on it.

sollie i have seen your great video and that's exactly how i did all the weld lines on my KT + my fiancee's Panzer IV.<div></div><div>The only problem now is the long LONG weld lines are what's left.</div><div></div><div>We are talking 4" inches long and very thin (around 1mm).</div><div></div><div>It's driving me nuts...</div><div></div><div>I have tried the countour putty with not much success.

well if you stick with m putty, I just join them if there are long stretch of weld lines ,like roof of the JP I'm working on, they don't have to be perfect. :-)

I used medium super glue to hold the thread in the trough at the start. Glue one end in and then lay the thread up to the first bend, or the end of the weld, and then use the thin stuff to glue the thread down. It doesn't take a whole lot to hold it and the glue will wick into the thread making it stiff also. Cut the ends off with a sharp x-acto blade or razor blade and add a small drop of the medium stuff to the end of it after the thin stuff has set and you have cut it to length.

sollie which milliput are you using? The only one i found was yellow-grey and i find it VERY difficult to work with... also cost me $20 for a small pack...<div>

Use Green Stuff, Its a better version and much easier to sculpt with i use it on all my 28mm models. (And my 1\35 scale tanks to fill gaps)

Ah i ran out of it last year when i was finishing some 40k stuff.
