RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
DAK in Phoenix did a build on it here.
I consider JS-2 to be is Tamiya's best tank yet (barring the Leo 2 of course). Lots of unique features. It's worth saving for. |
RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
Stay tuned for the completed build from the DAK site. Jeff did so much work on it and I need to give him a worthy build page.

RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
I looked at the build page in it's present state. One question, is Jeff using thick CA to set the bushings in the main road wheels? Like the build so far.
Thanks, Rudy |
RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
Low number of posts......from Texas.....Hmmmm???? Ken Meyers....have you respawned again? Others are also suspicious.
|
RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
Good job! Maybe Ken should look into this.
Same MO, same topic of conversation, same way of typing. ~ Jeff |
RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
Who is Ken Meyers and what did he do?
Edit: Found out with some searching. Damn.<br type="_moz" /> |
RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
That's fascinating! As soon as you guys blew the guy's cover no more posts! Wow... BTW does the Armor Museum gift shop carry this one or is it special order only? I don't see it listed. It is a bit costly but hey what the heck we only pass through here once. Jerry |
RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
Yes. Karen does carry the IS. Here is a link to the tank store. Here is the link... http://shop.aaftankmuseum.com/search...show=10&page=2
I still need the Pzr IV. I didn't like the momentum in my Tamiya KV during battles. So I will pass on the IS unless I use a different DMD. The sounds are the beast however....better tan the Leo. |

This is where you and I differ. I wish all tanks had the momentum feature. The jack rabbit changes of direction in this hobby are one of the biggest things that detract from running scale model tanks. To be competitive the momentum is a big disadvantage I know, but it sure makes them look and operate like real tanks |
RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
You guys are much more in-tune with battling and battling techniques than I but I an so in agreement with YHR in this regard. Jackrabbit stop/starts are really annoying, adding to the windup toy perception and subtracting from the hobby aspect. Jerry |

Nope. Wrong person<div>I might go with the KV2</div>

To be competitive the momentum is a big disadvantage I know, but it sure makes them look and operate like real tanks The first hting i setup on my TK-22 for my KT was the momentum. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! It goes from 'r/c car toy' to 'is this a scaled tank?'. Simply amazing and adds a insane amount of realism. It seems too many people are interested in high speed, machine gun like main canon. How is that r/c tanking in any way? Might as well stick a 360 IR beam on top of a r/c car and drive around... <br type="_moz" /> |

RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
I was wondering this as well after seeing all the video's of people having there tanks set to out run RC cars.......Seems kinda silly really. (Plus really unfair to other tankers)

RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
Just a small point, my asiatam KV-2 with metal tracks has a TK-22 in it, but I don't even turn on the momentum.. the taigen 4:1 gears are actually able to free-wheel to the point where the tank actually takes 4-5 inches to come to a complete stop...
Natural momentum! :D |
RE: NEW TAMIYA JS-2
I always battle with momentum on... I think it's more fun.
