S.E.A.D is back!
1 Attachment(s)
S.E.A.D(Southeast Armored Division) is back in action! We had a battle day here in Georgia and had five tankers, Philip(me), Eric, Marty, Larry, and Mike. Marty did a great job picking out the battlefield and getting it ready for battle. We actually have a sixth tanker Joe but he was out of town and unable to attend. It was a little warm out but we got probably 5 or 6 good battles in. Here are just a few shots of some of the action. Btw, I didn't get near enough pictures or video so hopefully some of the other guys will post them up as well.

RE: S.E.A.D is back!
Where are you located in Georgia? Close to Chattanooga, TN or Atlanta, GA?
|
RE: S.E.A.D is back!
Close to Atlanta. I actually live in Douglasville which is only 20 minutes from Atlanta and probably about 1 hr 45 from Chatanooga. Where do you live Maus45?

RE: S.E.A.D is back!
Just noticed Maus45 your from Old Hickory Tennessee which is near Nashville so your about 4 hours away from me. If your ever feel like making the trip down we'd love to have you. We will post up the next battle date soon.

Congrats guys!
I am very happy to hear the news. There are so many RCU tankers near you. Great going. Perhaps I can make an SEAD event sometime when the weather is cooler. I love Lake Lanier, the Chattahoochie River, Helen river tubing. Beautiful area. I hope you guys will be caravanning up to Danville to battle in a few weeks. More pix please. |

The two flak trucks are static. Both are Highway 61 1:16. One is a 1941 Chevy flatbed I converted to a field expedient 37mm Flak 43. The other is a 1940 Ford stakebed with a 20mm Flak gun. Both Flak guns are Verlinden kits.

Mike the trucks look great. Top quality work pal. Bring them to Danville in June and we'll set up a photo session and have AA gunnery practice....LOL. If we get bored we can shoot down the planes over the battlefield.

What's the black eagle based on? Looks rather fetching, any more details about it?
|
RE: S.E.A.D is back!
Eric will have to answer that but I think it's a Russian and or Eastern European 1990's tank.

RE: S.E.A.D is back!
The Black Eagle is a Russian prototype Object 640 (circa 1997) that was to precursor the T-95 series, which never realized.
The model is based on the Tamiya Leopard with upped motor and remanufactured turret. Thanks to all that came out for this event and will post more pics and vid on the website soon. The BE is interesting for the fact that , during its time, was the first to have fully automated loading/fire system and no personnel in the turret. We also had a hill climb test some 100 feet of 40-45 degree slope rough terrain which 2 Tam and 1 Taigen conquered. The all metal Taigen that Phil drove was impressive and performed well.;) |
RE: S.E.A.D is back!
Guys, it is looking good! Tanks and the battlefield area look like a fun place to run. Any water near by?

RE: S.E.A.D is back!
Yes Eric's Russian prototype Object 640 tank was a BEAST. That thing was fast and could climb damn near anything. He even took on two Tigers by his self at one point and although he got defeated he defiantly held his own. Herman no water around other than a little bit of wet mud on one side of the field.
|
RE: S.E.A.D is back!
Now if you could only move a little closer to me.. say 15 hours by car lol. Great to see you guys having battle days.
I just wish I could bring my little beasties for some friendly scraps

RE: S.E.A.D is back!
Nice pics, thanks for sharing. Glad to see you all getting back into local battling. The tanks looked very nice. Whomever built the bridge did a pretty good job. The one picture of it at ground level makes it look real sized.
