Panzer IV sound question

Does the Panzer IV with a stock MFU 5 unit have a sound when the turret moves or the main gun moves up or down ?

thanks ;);)

It should. It is the only Tamiya that I have not built or owned yet. The MF-04 for the Jagdpanther has elevation sounds, but no traverse sounds.

I can let you know for sure later today hen I install the elevation and rotation.

As it is, I didn't hear any while testing the running gear. It has MG and cannon sounds without them hooked up, so I suspect it doesn't have them.

I'm not up on the mechanics of the IVs, but I did build DML's static E years ago and seem to remember a lot of hand cranks in the turret. Since they were the cheaper/quicker construction of the German armor, maybe they were manual rotation and elevation.

The Panzer IV turret was hand cranked so the Tamiya Panzer IV should have no sound .

Actualy PzIV F,G and H had power assisted turret rotation the Tamiya PzIV is based on the J version this to accommodate larger fuel tanks went back to hand rotation as opposed to power assisted , gun elevation was also operated by hand this was common in tanks of the Time

Lots of pucker factor trying to get that damned turret around before you got your face blown off.

At least it gave you something to do while you waited. ;) Better than trying to step harder on the pedal and yelling.

They were cranking for their lives when the aux gas motor was eliminated on the late models. "Mach Schnell" is what we should be hearing from inside the tank. [:@]
