I didnt mean rtr, I jsut meant not needing instant upgrades. I guess I should have clarified,
I do still own 3 tamiya tanks. Is it possible to install the new leopard dual motor system into a old single motor leopard? Anyhow, I just want a tank I can run around in the dirt and trails around my house. I own a plethora of rc stuff so radios and what not are of no issue. I als dont battle or care about the sound. I jkust want a good durable driver. On my kt, it's actually the metal calmps giving me trouble not the springs. I think I will just set the tension then drill a hole through the clamp and drum and install a screw. II'm not huge on shermans, but the price isnt bad for a tamiya, although I notice they only sell the new one , so the cheaper ones must be old stock. Has anyone here driven the metal tracked version of a taigen pIanzer IV? Not the full metal hull, but tracks and at least gearbox. Seemed like a decent deal at my lhs for 250, I love the tigers, but im just tired of them. I will have to seriously consider the all metal tiger though. I'd really like to see something like a panzer 2 or some english tank get released, or a 1/16 hetzer... |
The Russian Tamiyas are often overlooked but are supposed to be great runners. The KVs sound is outstanding.
As mentioned, you couldn't go wrong with the Tammy Panther or Jadgpanther. The pz IV is a nice kit too. In terms of a Pz II or Hetzer, you and me both brother, but the smaller links may be keeping the big guys out of it. Panda Hobby just came out with a 38t in static that'll make a nice RC kit, but it's miles away from what you're looking for in terms of OOB. I'd go Panther G or KV-1. |
Tamiya Panther G or Tamiya M26 Pershing are your absolute best bet OTB tanks bar none. You can not go wrong with either of these 2 models.

Many guys still do upgrade them with metal suspension and running gear but it is not a must. My completely stock PzIII is one of my most reliable tanks and the only airsoft tank i still have, I keep it that way just for the airsoft. |
