Odorless primer?
is there such a thing as odorless primer? I want to paint my tank this winter, but I really have no heated space outside the house where I could prime it...so...a modeler's dream...odorless primer..does it exist?
|
Vallejo makes great water based poly primers precolored to most of our needs, including red oxide. They aren't in rattle cans though, they need to be airbrushed (although I guess you could hand brush if push came to shove).
I use them on all my kits, RC or static, plastic, metal or resin. |
I'll check for Vallejo then ;) i'm not really good with airbrush yet, but I might be able to prime at least...
|
Vallejo's already thinned for the AB, so it's pretty easy, just try not to go too heavy with it. Better off with two thin coats than one heavy.

nice thanks! that's exactly what I need then...i'm not really used to do good mixes yet!

I'll try to find myself a green one...got a russian tank!

found pretty much everything I need on elm city hobbies website...if I use the russian green primer...I dont really need to use paint over it?can weather primer right?
|
I will wait for a somewhat warm day and spray in the garage. Then bring items in the house to dry. If your spraying. You can still fog out a room which isnt good regardless of odar. My first spray job, my wife booted me out of the house.

I see what you mean...freakin winter is long up north...I should have done that in the fall so I would have all winter to paint it to my taste...
