Help need Tamiya TU
I have T tamiya Tiger I with maybe the second generation trans unit, this trans unit has the brass extended shaft that secured to the main shaft by two 3mm grub screws. The question I have and I did not notice them until each unit was completely cleaned and I was returning the liquid into a holding container. There was a small flat thin washer each time that I did not see with all the grease as I separated each part for cleaning ,One shaft at a time.If some one could give me the were a bouts this washers belongs I will be grateful. I will post a picture later if needed @ this time I have the battery on charge. thank you

Here is an old picture to get you started.
Type 2 on the left, Type 1 on the Right. If no one else can help, I can dig a little deeper and take some more picts….. Good luck. |
If you have the brass final drive shaft extender it is a Type 1 as on the right of the photo. Unfortunately I no longer have an unmodified Type 1 nor a schematic of the trans. Hopefully someone on forum will have either a pristine transmission or the schematic.

Wayne, think I have an original set of those laying around somewhere. If I can get out to the shop I'll take a look for that spacer placement.

Looks like it goes right here...
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1982993 I double checked by looking at a new set I'm getting ready to Fleabay. Yep, the only washer in there. Kudos to KSOC for the great photo (which I used). J. |

Just took a quick look and it looks like the 2nd nylon/brass gear back towards the motor from the output shaft has a spacer between the brass bushing and gearbox frame on the inside wall.
