Thanks Mark for the videos! Luv the truck... a Ural 420?

Seeing that Leopard A4 makes me want to get mine down with the IMPACT tracks that I have and get started. Need to concentrate on 1/16 this summer and give the 1/35th a rest for awhile.

I've become such a streaky builder... started many, finished few! LOL

Thanks for the pictures Karel, I hope you enjoyed the event and our RAG Cameraden looked after you

karel47 04-15-2014 01:11 AM

Yes we had mark ... mecki and his team are the best and very helpfull with advice and repairing damage on tanks ... especialy thomas and philip helped the leo 2 keep riding ..
The plastic wheelbones broke very easy ... the terrain was very demanding on the 1/16 tanks because of the loose earth the big monsters left behind ... we be back if RAG wants us back

MAUS45 04-15-2014 04:44 AM

Like the Sig33/PZ III and the Flak Panzer III. Thanks for sharing the photos Karl!!!!

herrmill 04-15-2014 05:20 AM

I hate to ask but what did Hooben show since the original related thread has been taken over by a bunch of WOT fanbois?

As the old tag line goes, "curious minds want to know!"

karel47 04-15-2014 07:49 AM

I went to their lo ation in hall 5 , their wasn't hooben, I think it was arkroyal models with sailing boats ... I we t two times their to verify I wasn't mistaken ... no hooben in sight , no abrams or leopard 2a4 to see a pity ... he an ounced himself to all his clients ... very strange indeed

Thanks for photos and information, Yes its very strange. And what about Tamiya and other companies - sth new in RC tanks?

rivetcounter 04-16-2014 12:55 AM

Well no surprise Hooben failing to show , it could be a sign that the Leopard 2a4 and Abrams will not appear that or by the time they do release them people will be bored with the Heng Long version .

Thanks for the pictures Karel, I almost felt like I was there

karel47 04-16-2014 07:28 AM

I will post more today, am having throuble to place them on you tube its so slow almost anouying to wait, my last movies was loading two hours before it was on youtube but I post more pics within an hour
Am glad you introduce me to rag mark , only once I was by them and it felt like camarades ...

karel47 04-16-2014 07:52 AM

I must admit heng long is going great steps forward ... in dortmund was a leopard2a6 from them with metal hull , metal gearboxes , metal roadwheels and sprockets and metal tracks for 299 euro , that's a third of the tamiya price ... if you use then the clarks Tk22 in it you have a stronger lepard then the tamiya one who is weak in their wheelbones ... a few rag guy's are planning to buy buy this hl to make conversions cheaper because of the isseus with the 850 euro tamiya have ... I have one tamiya I will upgrade it with AFV part to make a battlefield beast but that cost another 300 euro again, count the afv idler and ballbearing in it allready you have to invest another 500 euro to get a strong lepard so tamiya 850 & 500 euro = 1350 euro ... thats 5x the amount of the supermetal lepard of heng long ... the tamiya dmd/mf 7 module Is a state of the art piece of electronic thats treu but that is the only advantage tamiya had with it
A pity am a tamiya fan, have 20 tanks of them but in the near future I don't know if I stay a fan ... the tamiya german WOII tanks are good why this topmodel fails in the terrain ... it is a unknown question

cleong 04-16-2014 08:02 AM

Did anyone send an email reply asking what happened with the promised tank display?

Did Asiatam have the new lower hulls for the Panther and JagdPanter? If so did they look good in person? Also was the FlakPanzer III an Asiatam conversion?

Unless their laoban finds another investor who's willing to part with his money in a foolish way, I seriously doubt you'll see much more of Hooben (Arkmodel). Last month their latest investor based out of Chicago severed ties with Feng shortly after the WRAM Show which is a bloody shame since many had hopes that John Amman, their new owner, was going to revamp the company, manage & oversee production as well as move some production to the States. Mike Caswell of Sub-Driver.com had taken on the line 1-1/2 years before & had hopes of growing both Ark/Hooben lines with them under the new management but has now washed his hands of them & is closing out what stock he has. He may even have a couple Elefant kits that he may let go cheap.

You can read about the hopes Mr. Amman & many modelers had with the company under his new management - Twin Horse/Ark Model/Hooben are one & the same - on the following thread:

w'll see what become of hooben ... its a pity the business plan had failed ... let's hope they crawl up again ... the models they had were of good quality and original

for instand my hooben rc perkasa is as much detailed as the tamiya 1/72 plastic kit am glad i have one ... not expensive at all

Tanque 04-20-2014 12:50 PM

I thought in the beginning Hooben's Elefant would become as common RC itself but I see that was wishful thinking.
So much for bringing down the value of Imai's model...

Makes me glad I got the Elefants and T-55 when I did. Don't know the numbers produced but in 20 years time unless
Hooben rises again those kits may well have a cache all their own... I can see the posts: " I remember when Hooben released their
Elefant - wish I had grabbed a few...now they're selling for a fortune "

In lieu of anything else - if ya snooze ya lose.... or in the immortal words of one American comedian; next time a Hooben comes your way " git 'er done! "

Jerry
