Here's a pic of my latest build. Got the basic shape done, trying to fit the electrics before detailing;)

Looking at the tracks and suspension are you building it on an existing tank base (Stuart?) or is the whole thing a scratch build?
|
The tracks and suspension all seem to be from a sherman except for the idler wheel
|
that;s correct, the bogies and track are HL Sherman which are a bit overscale, but as I want to battle her I wanted the reliability of factory running gear......plus I had them in my spares box so they didn't cost anything;)
|
Considering what we have to work with, that is an ingenious plan Frank.
Now that you have a reliable platform, let see the M3A1 Stuart... also known as the 'Honey'. ;) Jeff |
Inspiring idea Frank.
I want to tackle this myself some day, so I am very interested in the result |
That is a really clever solution for a battling Stuart !!!!!!
I wish I had thought of that................:) |

The Stuart is my favorite tank. I love it. Beautiful!
|
looking great. Wish you would have done a build thread on the hull and body though.
Thanks Jim |

Jim http://www.rctankregiment.com/rctank...hp?f=34&t=7550 ...made a start on the weathering... http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1993774 |
This build is making me want one so bad. The M5 Stuart is a great tank. It's like the underdog of the armoured divisions.
Also, this tank has bought many smiles to my face on World of Tanks, and still does. |

@Maus45.....the idlers fixed, I wanted a strong, reliable battler and thought a working idler might be a bit too fragile.
@ Rex...the figure's from Alpine minatures and I think he's a beautifully sculpted model. His pose and "attitude" are spot on ;) |
