Clark boards Have Tamiya Killer code
 
Hi Guys have found the 888 Tamiya killer code inside the Clark board, If the Clark board is setup to fire I.R. machine gun , if its fired at a Tamiya it will kill it in about 20 seconds ,Kills the Tamiya in 2 kills (doesn't matter which setting the Tamiya is).If the Clark board is fired at other Clark boards all you hear is bullets bouncing off the tank . But fire it at a Tamiya and it is killed, So all you guys who like a battle keep an eye out for this.
I haven't tested this against other systems yet ,will test against the IBU and El-mod tomorrow.

My Samsung TV remote does the same thing. Press mute and knock out any Tamiya.

I've never witnessed this but it'll be interesting to test out.

As a club these day's we're running a majority Clark boards with Tamiya, SLU and a few DBC's/Makos zipping about.

I know clark has an MG damage function (setting whether they can recieve damage from MGs or not as well as output damage). Its probably a function for clark v clark special battles that happens to line up with one of the seemingly unused tamiya codes

In battles you'll very often see Clark tanks scan the field with their machine guns to 'sight in' other Clark tanks and then fire with the cannon. Since it doesn't work vs other boards it has no use... so while it's entirely possible for it to have other effects most people would rather fire their main gun at a Tamiya!

...until someone decides they can take advantage of it.

It's a case of self-regulation and the vast majority of us with good character should be fine.

Hopefully the IR machine gun can be turned off so it is not an issue. Gentleman will be asked to not use it to give them an unfair advantage much like the dreaded fan shot is frowned upon.

Thanks for bringing it up. Tamiya guys might be frustrated if their KT's were being taken down with MG fire.

How is this actually done? I mean, in most cases, how do you know if you have sighted in the target properly - in real life you've got tracer rounds to tell you?

Hi If you fire a Clark tank at another Clark tank you can hear bullets bouncing off . So if you traverse the turret firing the M.G. you will hear the bullets bouncing then fire the main gun.
I could see this being a problem for some clubs ,one more thing to check before battling can start. See if the M.G. is turned on, has it the correct load times and number of lives .May be they will start to ban the Clark board because they have to check more things and it all takes time.

This only works with Clarks vs Clarks. Since there is no reload time for the MG you can constantly sweep the with it until you hear the bullets deflecting. As soon as hear it fire the cannon, guaranteed hit.

So if I understand it correctly, this Clark feature simulates the coaxial machine gun (as opposed to the bow machine gun). In normal mode, only Clark boards pick up and respond to this machine gun by emitting bullet strike sounds, but it is switchable to allow it to transmit the two-shot-kill mode?

In my experience battling both indoors and outdoors, you can't hear the bullets striking your target tank because you would probably be too far away. And if you are close enough, you don't need your coaxial machine gun to sight you in either.

I do not think banning the Clark board is necessary though. Anytime a Tamiya tank gets killed quicker than its hit capacity allows, and there are Clark tanks on the field, it would be dead easy to root out which tank was the culprit and have it taken off the field.

Cleong that's basically the idea. It's situational and yes even on our medium sized field you can't always head the machine gun ping. It's toggled on and off both on the firing AND receiving tank, so you can have your own Clark tank ignore it. Right now it's a fun novelty between Clarks and sometimes used in battle as mentioned above. I don't rely on it.

I don't really know what the two-shot 'mode' refers to but it'll get tested out.

I have been told if you spray a Tamiya tank with MG after about 20 Seconds it "blows up" and is out of the game.

I don't see Clark boards being banned, but it is something that will need to be addressed

with it being off by default I doubt it would be common without intent either

This is exactly why systems shouldn't be mixed.

You might get shunned off the battlefield for using it! LOL

As long as this can be turned off when competing against other systems there should be no issue. Just one more check on the checklist. Far better to find a way to co-exist then draw lines in the sand.

Good one Strato. OK with me banning the tamiya electronics....figure me and my tammy electronic counter parts will be the only one's left to run a tank after 30 min while the clone boys are wrenching....he he. Think we've both got big spoons on this one! Seriously though, seems like it would be very easy to self police this.

Turn the MG off and there is no harm. Now we can start frisking people for any remotes they may bring to the battlefield.

Turret doesn't rotate when machine gun firing. So move out of the way of the emitter? I'm sure there are some guys out there that will test this further. I would like to see proof at the next battle I attend. All you Tamiya guys think Blackberry....

Sat for about 25 seconds firing my MG at a Tamiya Leo today with my Clark KV-2... nothing happened.

...it was also fairly obvious that I was sitting there doing nothing with my MG wailing away, taking hits from all directions.

I'm going to call this a non-issue, even if it technically is possible.

did you have your MG set to do damage? Its a setting that can be toggled on and off and is off by default

All my Clark tanks send and receive MG code, yes.
